Outlook 2010 drops todoist

T

I use todoist as an add-in on my work and home PC. My home PC has disabled todoist from Outlook and I cannot get it successfully enabled through Options ... even though I go through the process. I am using Outlook 2010 in a Windows 7 environment.
Is this a common problem?

Hi Tim,

This is not a common problem. So you can see OutlookTodoist in the addin area, but you are't able to enable it? Did you install any other plugins or software recently?

Yes, I can see it under the disabled addin area. I have uninstalled it before and reinstalled it. When I reinstall it, it will sometimes work for a couple of weeks and then drop out again.

Can't think of anything I have installed recently ... but this has been an ongoing issue for a few months.

Tim,

It would then seem something is blocking it, but only after awhile. You do not have Anti-Virus or software like that which could be interfering? Try adding Todoist as an exception.

That being said it shouldn't be an issue. We do have a fair amount of issues with our plugin and we are working on it. This could be another related problem.

I'd try un-installing it, clearing the cache (search Windows Explorer for Todoist & Doist and remove all) then re-install.

Hi Brendon,

No joy.

I have ensured my Norton antivirus is not blocking.

Have uninstalled and searched Windows environment for misc. items.
Reinstalled.

Ran .exe file downloaded from Todoist website (outlook app). Nothing
showed on outlook.

Went into options of Outlook and found Todoist in disabled add-ins (as has
been an ongoing problem).

At this point I have been unable to activate it, despite attempts to ‘add’
using the .dll file. When I try it simply does not register and shows the
disabled todoist app as unchecked in the list.

Frustrating. I could use some help on this.

Hello Tim,

Unfortunately, we're unsure what can cause this :-( It it wouldn't work at all and you could never get it to work, then it could be a known issue related to anti-virus software and proxy settings, but given that it worked for you for a while, then stopped and now you can't activate it, we have not been able to reproduce such issue yet.

Please try to completely turn Norton off and see if this makes any difference. Also, are you connecting through proxy servers and have configured the proxy in IE (our plugin will look for proxy settings in IE)?

David

Hi Brendon,

Tried disabling my antivirus after uninstalling Todoist. Still ran into
the same problem. Todoist keeps ending up in the ‘disabled add-in’ list
within Outlook. I suspect it is throwing out an exception to Outlook and,
in Microsoft-speak, is soft-disabled each time I try to enable it.

Could use some help on this.

FYI … I am using a google apps sync for my e-mail in Outlook. Don’t know
if this may be helpful to know; although Todoist has worked with this in
the past and continues to work fine on my work PC.

Tim,

I will pass this to our developers and we'll look into this in future updates. Sorry for the inconvenience.
