Date default

Since a couple of days ago, every time I start a new task it automatically adds a date - 31st August 2013. How do I stop this?

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for your report, I've passed it to our developers and we'll look into this. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi David,
The problem is now worse than I thought. It's also happening on the Windows desktop version. If I enter a date using the calendar, Todoist thinks that today is Saturday 31st August 2013, even though the pre-selected date is August 2014. If I try to enter a date, the year defaults to 2013 and I have to manually change it. This is making it pretty unusable at the moment!

I'm sure you are already working on a fix - but I wanted to report that I'm another user experiencing this strange issue - web and desktop (windows) - default date for me is Aug 25

Sorry to add more to this. Adding tasks and it is moving to Aug 26 2015 even if having already confirmed the correct date

To assist as I am not sure if this has been noted.

The default date when adding a new task is defaulting to date of the earliest task due date.

For example I have tasks 6 Days over due (I know bad show and all that), so my filter/view is 'overdue, today'

If I add a new task it adds it for the 26th of Aug 2014 which was the date 6 days ago. When I save it the systems says you can not schedule it for the past and so moves it to the future of 2015.

If I change the filter to

Today, overdue and add a task then it adds it for today's actual date of the 1st of September which is correct.

Hope this helps in the meantime.

I realized why my date is set to apr 16. When I click "today" from the
left column, The list I actually get is today and overdue. The oldest
Item is apr 16. So, when creating a new item in this list, the default
date is the oldest month, and day. This is counter intuitive, Since the
label I clicked is "today".

Hello,

We've made some changes on our end now and this issue should be addressed. Please try to manually delete Todoist's offline data in your browsers and let us know if the issue still persists.

In case of Outlook, please delete the "Cache" folder from C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Todoist\Outlook

Sorry - three days later and the problem is back again. This time the date has defaulted to September 23. Obviously I know how to deal with this, but a better long term solution is required!!

Hi Andrew,

Can you please tell me if you tried clearing the cache and it fixed the problem?

Can you also give the exact steps you're doing so I can reproduce it exactly and report it to our developers so they can fix it? Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Clyde

Yes, I cleared the cache and it's 'sort of' fixed the problem. Instead of getting a blank date box I get todays date, which is better than an irrelevant date.

The exact steps are (In Outlook).

1. Highlight email to be added as a task in the main Inbox Window In Outlook (2010)
2. Click on the 'Add Todoist' button.

Now, having just gone through that, you can scrub the first part of my reply above, as the date showing in the Add Task window for the task I've just added is September 18!
