Can I manually add or edit the hyperlink to the task header

EL

I created a task from an email using Gmail extension, but then I changed the subject and the gmail conversation URL changed. I want to change it within Todoist task without recreating the task.

Hi Eugene,

You mean edit an already created task by email, and change the title of it? You can already do this, either when creating or editing, the title can be changed to whatever you'd like.

Or do you mean you changed the actual email, then there is no way to fix this link of the already created task and it needs to be re-created.

Got it about changing.

What about "Can I create a manually create a new task with a hyperlink"?

Use case: I got my gmail thread URL from elsewhere, not from gmail web client. Now I want to create a Todo with the hyperlink.

Eugene,

Yes of course you can enter any URL and it will be clickable. Feel free to try these things out.

Brendon, sorry for not specified exact question right away.

I want the link to have some reasonable name, for example task "Update Google Doc with my travel plans" pointing to the Google Doc's URL.

Eugene,

Then no, at this time it will grab the title of the website and change it to that.

Doesn't grab anything, the URL remains an URL ("https://...").

Eugene,

Are you pasting it within the task title, then yes, it stays as URL. Within the notes area, it will change. I now see that you are not Premium.

Have to switch to Premium to try out.

By any chance, do you know a way to get Gmail thread id or message Id from Gmail Offline client? I'm trying to work out a way to work with mail and Todoist offline.

Eugene,

I do not believe its supported at this time. There are some limitations sadly.
