Missing information

Earlier today, I made some major updates on Todoist. Added a project, added several tasks, completed some tasks, and moved some tasks from one project to another. All that information is now missing. I made the changes in the web app, using Chrome Version 36.0.1985.143

The changes I made are also missing in my iphone app 8.4.1.

After I realized that there was an issue, I logged out of both accounts and logged back in, still missing. Then shut down Chrome and restarted, still missing, and then unistalled and re-installed my mobile app, still missing.

I checked my backup files but could not find a version where they are shown.

Made me feel crazy, like I dreamed the whole todoist session...but I didn't.

I love todoist, and use it heavily. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to retrieve information, if not, it's not the end of the world, but I need to make sure that I can avoid this problem in the future.

Hello Meredith,

Unfortunately, if you've logged out, it may be difficult to restore these changes, they're all cached in the browser's local storage as long as you're logged in and then you could have tried to force-reload the page, restart the browser, add a new task and then try to sync by clicking on the TD icon.

Please try to do the above, in case the local storage is still there, this should help. Also, please let me know if you see a red triangle at the top (which would mean that Todoist is in offline mode and can't connect).

Hi David,

I did try to force re-load the page, restart browser, and tested syncing a new task with the icon. None of these seemed to work. I always update my "new version available" when the gear icon is green, and I make sure that todoist is online. I have not seen any warning icons.

I have actually encountered this problem again, this week. I use many different Chrome profiles for various jobs and personal accounts. When using each of the chrome profile windows, I often open up Todoist, but always sign into it using the same google account. Perhaps this has something to do with the issue? I realized that one Chrome profile seems to keep my Todoist more up to date than the others. Any advice here?

Attached is a screeenshot showing the same Todoist account returning different information in two separate chrome profiles. My "cat" icon profile is up to date while my "cupcake" and iOS app do not appear to have synced in over a week.

Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to avoid this.

Hi,

It is more complicated then what we hope, as we are having issues finding the exact cause to issues such as this, and simply links to emails always working etc.

But, generally if you are signed into the account that is associated with your Todoist account (through settings) then that works best.
