Todoist Crashes after completing a couple of entries on my iPhone 5

On my iPhone 5 (with latest iOS update) I make two or three "todo's" or "completes" and then the application locks up. It takes three or four minutes then it shuts down and I have to log back on. I usually just make my entries from my iMac 27"...is there going to be a fix to this?

Hi Jeff,

So you are saying this only happens after a few completes, or adding of a task? So if you do nothing at all, nothing happens?

Try signing out of the app (which clears the cache) and see if it happens when you sign back in. If not, try un-installing it, reboot, re-install.

Brenden,

I have tried that AFTER it unfreezes and have deleted the app and reinstalled it and it works okay. I also just switch to my computer and make edits.

Jeff,

It was not clear, so after the re-install, you are saying its fine now?

Brenden,

No. It still hangs up (freezes) on iPhone after 3-4 entries. No entries or control for app is possible. After five minutes the program shut down. Then I log back on and make 3-4 entries and it freezes again.

I can just delete app and reload and it goes back to above.

Jeff,

Are you jailbroken on that device?

Brenden,

I have reinstalled the application several times and NO it is still locking
up on me after 3-5 transactions.

This iPhone is NOT JailBrokenŠ

Hello Jeff,

Though we can't reproduce it, we'll soon release a new version with much improved syncing and bug fixes, let us know if the issue will persist in the next version.

Aside from that, are you completing or setting tasks with incorrect due date formats? We're aware of certain date formats that will not show the "invalid date" error, will be accepted, but will then cause issues if you try to complete such task. If you've used complex recurring due dates, please post one or two examples to make sure it's not the dates that cause this problem.

> * Sep 23 @ 9am
> * Every day at 11:00
> * Every 4th wed
> * Ev sun, mon, wed
Are any of these bad entriesŠ

Brenden,

It seems to be the ev 30 days (or like kind) that hang the system up when I
try and close the most recent item.

Can you send me a copy of a timeline that doesn¹t work but is acceptedŠ

Jeff,

There are many, we do not have them all recorded sadly. Are you entering exactly "ev 30 days" or "ev 30"? Same thing happens even with "ev 10 days" for example?

Brenden,

I am not 100% sure which ones failŠbut I believe ev 30 would be the 30th of
every month and ev 30 days is ev 30 days.

I have in the past tried to delay the ev 30 days by rescheduling it
tomorrowŠsometime it does not work and hangs up. I then go to my iMac and
just edit the scheduled itemŠ

Jeff,

You are right, "ev 30" is the 30th of each month, and "ev 30 days" is well every 30 days. I was just making sure that was the one you were using.

There is a large update coming, mostly related to sync problems but many other things have changed, this may get resolved. That being said, we have yet been able to really reproduce this issue.

Brendon,

That¹s okay for nowŠhopefully next build will resolves the issue. I have
learned to not make too many completes in one sessionŠthen when it locks up
I just close it and wait for it to reset. When I open it after that it is
fineŠ

Brenden,

I am still having problems with the iPhone and Todoist. Only can make two
to three entries or changes and it just locks upŠ My iPad and iMac work
great without issues. Any suggestions on what to do on my iPhone?

Jeff,

Besides installing our update when it comes (hopefully soon) you can do a complete re-install. Remove, reboot, re-install. It may make a difference. It's hard to say since we have not been able to reproduce it.

Brenden,

I have a work around (sorta). I just double click the round enter button to
bring up the running applicationsŠhighlight the Todoist and then stroke
upwards to terminate Todoist. Todoist reboot when I start it again after
about two to three minutes.

As I said before this does NOT occur on my iPad and iMacŠstrangeŠI will
await the update that hopefully will fix this problem (mine I guess).

Mahalo,
