Sub tasks are do not follow parent task

DL

I started to evaluate Todoist just today and I already feel like giving up.

I have been using Omnifocus for years, but I'm starting to look up for alternative as I'm considering switching to Android. Todoist came across as promising contender since it works across all platform.

Everything seems good so far except the this: The sub tasks are not true sub tasks.

To add sub task, I had to first add it like normal task, then set the level. Never mind, after that, I need to arrange the newly added sub task to below the main task. Now imagine I need to add multiple sub tasks...

Let's say I'm still game after all these hassles. The deal breaker came, when I needed to reorder main tasks around, and the sub tasks do not follow along. So I had to rearrange the sub tasks to sit below the main tasks again.

If you can't make sub tasks work properly, why introduced it in the first place?

Hi Dean,

Sorry to hear that it's not working out for you. You may see this added in a future update. Just so you know, our developers are working hard to bring more awesome features.

Hi!

The same happens with projects. When I moved a parent project I was surprised that the sub projects did not move either. You should change this unusual behavior as well ;-)

Hello Matthias,

If you wish to move a project that has sub-projects, please click on the arrow icon on the left side of it to collapse the sub-project structure and when you move it while it's collapsed, the sub-projects will move along.

David

Hi David,

Thanks for your quick reply!
I assume that the way you described in your reply is the way it works in the web version. Unfortunately the web version does not work properly on the iPad that's why I'm using the iOS app. In the iOS app I can't find an arrow icon left to the parent project. Please correct me if I m wrong :-)

Best wishes,
Matthias

Matthias,

Sorry, my bad, yes on iOS that doesn't work right now, but we'll consider adding such option in the future.

Thanks again! Maybe I should switch from the iPad to a Surface. There, the browser version works like a charm. OK, just joking ... :-)
