SMS Reminders not working

Hi there,

I'm using the app on an Android phone in New Zealand. I can get a test SMS reminder fine but not actual reminders. I have seen that other users have lodged similar issues. I've tried from the various providers listed but none of them seem to work for me. What is the best solution for using SMS reminders in this part of the world?

Also, is there a way to make the Push reminders pop-up and fill the screen, rather than just appear in the notifications center?

Thanks,

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

Sorry to hear that you're running into issues with our SMS reminder. We're looking to get this resolved as fast as we can. I've added you to list of users who's affected by this and we'll notify you right away once a fix is available.

As for your second concern, there's no way to do that right now but we'll look into improving this in the future.

Regards,
Clyde

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I will be checking back regularly as the SMS reminders were one of the main reasons that I decided to go with a Todoist Premium account.

Cheers,

Kiran

I am also not receiving any SMS alerts. I test my number in the settings and it works with no issues.

Hello,

The SMS related issues should now be fixed. Please try to set up a reminder and let me know if the problems persist.

David

Hi there,

Now when I put a reminder in, no matter what time I enter, it defaults to 9:00am.

Kiran,

Are you sure its anything? Can you give examples of the syntax used?

I've tried the following:

and I've tried a variety of different times. It flicks back to today at 9:00am.

Hi,

Can you tell me if this happens if created on the web version?

Yes, those attempts were all made from the web version on my laptop.

I just tried to add a reminder now on my Android app for various times this afternoon and it came up with a notification saying "reminders cannot be outdated", which I'm guessing is happening because it's trying to add them at 9:00am.

When I add a reminder as "tomorrow 11:00am" it sets a reminder for tomorrow at 9:00am. This is from the Android app.

Hi Krian,

Can you please outline the steps you do to replicate the problem? I tried reproducing it but it's working fine for me? Here's what I did in the web:

1. Add a task description and a date (tod @ 5pm)
2. A default reminder is added 30 mins. before the task
3. I add a reminder for on a date "tod @3pm" and it works. (I tried this for SMS, push notification, and email)

Clyde

It seems to be working when I use the @ symbol before the time. Is this a compulsory step? If I don't include this, it defaults to 9:00am.

Hi Kiran,

Yes, it is compulsory. You can learn more here: https://todoist.com/Help/Reminders.
