Todoist > Zapier > Google Calendar

Hi.

I would like to add new tasks from Todoist via Zapier to my Google Calendar. Unfortunately if I add a new task in Todoist with due date tomorrow the task will show up as a today task in the Google Calendar and not tomorrow.

My settings in Zapier are as followed:
1. Todoist - Google Calendar
2. Todoist API Account
3. Google Calendar Account
4. Filter: Todoist Projekt = Personal / Custom Filter: due_date, exists
5. Match up: Calendar = *email* / Describe Events = Content, Due Date

Has anybody a solution for that?

Thanks allot.

Hi Elia,

Just to confirm, you're trying to create a new calendar event when you create a new task in the "personal" project? Can you give me the screenshot of your current Zapier setup so I can replicate it exactly and see if there's a way to workaround the issue that your reported?

Hi Clyde,

I have attached the screenshot you have asked for.

Another question regarding projects. If we get this working here do I get also new events in my calendar from all sub-projects under "Personal" with this settings?

Hi Elias,

I did a test using "date string" instead of "due date" and it's working just fine. The task for for tomorrow shows up the next day in Google Calendar. Try if that solves your problem as well. As for your second question, the sub-projects under "Personal" is not included for this rule. You'll have to create separate zaps for each project/sub-project.

Hi Elias,

For some reason, the screenshot doesn't show the calendar I've chosen. Here's actually how I set it up.

Hi Clyde,

I think I'll leave this whole thing as I have still problems with it. I also wanted that after I have completed a task that this task will be crossed off in Google Calendar. But I think there is no option for this and if there is even one it will take me hours of figuring out how to set it up.

Thanks for your help but I may go just for the iCal feed which unfortunately only updates onces a day all tasks in Google Calendar.

Is there any chance Todoist is building his own calendar or having a deal with Google for updating iCal more than once a day?

Hello Elias,

Right now we're not working on our own calendar module, though of course you can see your tasks based on date if you search for any amount of days - 14 days, 21 days, 60 days etc. but the view will be a list, though.

We will consider, however, implementing better direct integration with Google's Calendar outside of iCal.

Hello David,

thanks for the reply.

Better integration with Google's Calendar sounds good but an Todoist Calendar sounds even better. :)

Will one of those published this year?

Elias,

This, we can't tall you, unfortunately. We don't usually have any long-term plans aside from keeping things simple, useful and powerful so we work on a few features, release them and then decide what's next so it's impossible to tell what will be released within a year.
