How do I get started with Todoist? I have watched the video and still don't know how to integrate it into Outlook 2013

I can't find lout how to even get started! A box comes up about projects and that is all. How do I get it to integrate with my emails? I have even upgraded to the Premium version.

Hi Wendy,

Are you using Outlook on a Mac or a PC? Please note that the Outlook plug-in is only available for Outlook for Windows. To start using it, please download the installer from this site: http://todoist.com/mac

I actually have both a Mac and a windows pc. I assumed that as Todoist is available for the iPad and iPhone via an app off the iTunes store, that it would work for the mac and not for windows. I could run it on the PC if necessary.
I have downloaded from the link as you suggested and still nothing happens or indicates what i should do to get it working. Does it only work with gmail and if not how do I sync it with my main email account?
I am getting very frustrated now!!

Hello Wendy,

Please clarify - do you see the Todoist panel on the right side inside Outlook and are asking how to use it or is the problem that you don't see it there at all?

To install Todoist for Outlook on a PC (it won't work on a Mac), please go to https://todoist.com/outlook download the installer and install it. Let me know what issue exactly are you experiencing with the installer, the installation, do you see any error messages? Any details you can provide would help us provide you with better assistance. Let us know at what point does the issue occur.

We do have an app for the iPhone and iPad, you can download it from https://todoist.com/iphone or simply search for "Todoist" on the App Store.

As for the Mac app Clyde mentioned, again - did you download it and started the app and then experienced any issues with logging into your a Todoist account or did you experience issues already with the download?

1. I can see the Todoist logo on the ribbon bar at the top of Safari
2. I now have 2 Todoist icons in the Mac tray - one is the programme and the other is the second download thatClyde suggested for the Mac
3. I have downloaded the free app onto the pc and it appears to have installed it but still no sign of the Todoist icon or anything to say that it now links with Outlook. It restarted and still nothing.
4. There are no error messages so I assume it is something that I am not doing as there is no indication/instructions as to what I should be doing to get the thing working!
5. The issue seems to be "How do I get it to work?"
6. If I download it for the iPhone and iPad does it sync my activities\projects/links with email as it does it on the pc or is that a standalone app for each? If it doesn't then why would I want to repeat everything on each of my 3 platforms?
7. Having now downloaded, but not got to work yet, on my pc what happens to my Premium upgrade that I did on my mac?
Generally it seems that this may well be a very good app that appears to do everything I want, but the lack of information e.g. mac or pc working let alone how to actually get it to work, is not available "upfront" before buying into the system.
Help!!

Wendy,

1. This sounds like a bookmark because we don't have plugins or extensions for Safari. That said, please make sure the bookmark points to https://todoist.com Try to go to https://todoist.com directly in Safari instead of using the bookmark, at least for now.

2. That's unusual because Todoist on the web doesn't create any additional icons. Only the app that Clyde suggested should. How did you create the other one? Is it a bookmark to the site? But either way, please click on the one that starts the actual app (what Clyde mentioned) and you'll see a window in the top-right area with Todoist in it asking you to log in - once you log in - that's it, you don't have to install anything else. In fact, all you need to do is to log into the same account using the same credentials on every platform and all your data will be in sync, which also answers point 6.

3. Just to clarify - when you say the app, do you mean the Windows app or the Outlook plugin? We have both and only the later will work with Outlook. Please go to your system's "Programs & Features" and let me know if you see "Todoist" or "OutlookToodoist" or both or neither on this list.

4+5. Thank you for confirmation.

6. Yes, you will have everything in sync if you log into the same account everywhere, you don't have to re-enter your tasks on every platform.

7. Same applies as in point 6. As long as you're logging into the same account everywhere, it is Premium everywhere, with the same data everywhere :-)

We're sorry for this inconvenience, we try to make our apps as easy to use as possible so that there is actually no setup needed at all - you can just get it for any platform you want and log in - all your data will be there.

Please let me know if any of the above helped. Since you're logged into Todoist now (as it's required to post in the support section), I assume it works for you at least in one browser on the web, which leaves the Mac app, Outlook plugin, Windows app and iOS app, is that correct?

On iOS, the app should install (if you're using iOS 7) with no issues and just ask you to log in when you start it, then sync everything automatically.
