Links and Check Boxes in Notes

Is it possible to paste a link into a Todoist task and/or a Note attached to a Todoist task?

As one cannot put check boxes into Notes, I was wondering about being able to post a link that would take me to a 'note' with check boxes in OneNote or Evernote.

Not all check box lists are re-usable. Even packing for travel, my items vary by time of year, destination, duration etc.

It would seem cleaner and visually better than making a check box by using sub-tasks.

Hi Roger,

Yes, you can add URL or links in a task and notes. You can format it this way:

http://exampleurl.com (Link name)

By using this syntax, the URL will show up as "Link name" instead of the long URL. You can link Evernote pages here if you want.

Clyde

Thanks, Clyde,

Not sure if I understand the Link name/long URL, I am in my late 60s!

Can one link to a file on my HDD? I realise the web link is more flexible, however I might be converting to OneNote soon.. I suppose that can be replicated online like Evernote.

Roger

Hi Roger,

Unfortunately, you can't link files/directories from your hard drive right now due limitations of browsers.

As for URLs, I have an example for you below and I'd like you to paste each one in a task so you can see the difference:

https://todoist.com/Help/Guide
https://todoist.com/Help/Guide (Todoist Help Guide)

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Regards,

Clyde

Hi Clyde,

Got it, an old dog has just learned a new trick, also tested it in Todoist
panel in Outlook 2010, works!

Request: PLEASE push your development people to set up an End Date for
repeating tasks and to show in a calendar. The calendar can be an internal
Todoist one that only shows tasks for each day and the word ENDS after the
end date for any repeating task

It would be even better if the tasks/end date showed up in Outlook as well
(I don't use Outlook tasks any longer, just use Todoist.

The End Date request is almost certainly the most-requested suggestion over
the last year.

Thanks for your help.

Roger

Hi Roger,

Good to know that it's now working. :-) I'll pass your requests to our team. I can't promise you that it will be implemented but at the very least, it will be discussed.

Clyde
