Outlook integration

Once we synch todoist with outlook, is there any way the todosit project due dates can synch with the outlook calendar? If so, does it work with all versions of outlook?

Hi Danielle,

It does not sync with the calendar by default. The extension that is, you can go into settings and grab the iCal feed URL which will sync with the calender, but this is only one way sync.

BRendon.

Thanks for your reply Brendon. I am not too savvy when it comes to stuff like this so I'm afraid I'm not following your instruction. Can you clarify this a little more? Thanks!

Danielle,

Head to Todoist.com --> Top right corner, Gear icon -- > Todoist Settings. From that new pop-up there is a URL at the bottom of it, this is the iCal feed URL. Copy this.

This is what you need to paste into your Outlook Calendar. I believe there is a menu item to Subscribe to Calendar, or similar to this. I will have to look it up, which Outlook version are you running?

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi Winston,

The changes in the calendar should update as you use "Send/Receive" in Outlook or after you close and reopen Outlook.

I am using outlook.com the free web version. Still not syncing after refresh or closing and opening.

Hi Winston,

I believe the update frequency should be specified in MS Outlook. The feed from our end updates instantly. I assume that a few hours already passed after your reply. Still not syncing?

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Still not syncing. Outlook.com (free version) does not have a setting for sync cycle.

It's been over a day.

Hi Winston,

The sync cycle/refresh rate are determined by the app or service. For example, Google Calendar refreshes iCal feeds once a day while the Apple Calendar app has the option to refresh it every five minutes.

I tried checking and it looks like it might 24 - 48 hours for tasks to show up. We unfortunately can't change this as Microsoft has to add the option to refresh it on a regular basis.
