Cannot login to Todoist app on iPhone

I cannot login in to Todoist app on iPhone 4s iOS version 6.1.3. I get an error message reading "Expected status code in (200-299), got 403. I can login everywhere else. I have deleted and reinstalled app, rebooted phone, and generated another API token. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi Ted,

Our current app requires iOS 7 or later. You say you re-installed it, so the app store let you re-install this app? Those steps are the normal ones to resolve this issue, and we have no other reports of this issue. It may be related to your iOS version.

Yes, it allowed me to re-install my current version from the cloud. I guess it is time to upgrade my iOS and install the latest version of Todoist. Thank you,

I'm experiencing the same issue for the first time today... could you confirm there are no ios specific google login issues?

Richard,

There does not seem to be any issues on our end, are you also on an iOS version before 7.0? We did recently update all our APIs, which makes certain apps no longer useable.

Hey Brendon, that does indeed seem to be the answer... once I logged out of Localist on iOS 6 I wasn't able to log back in. Updating my OS and Localist app cured the problem, though at the expense of losing unsynced items in my old app instance. On the positive side (for Localist), you clearly have a killer app if I actually go to the trouble of updating my OS to access it :-/

App Store let's me redownload the version for my iOS and I get the same error when I trie to log in with my Google Account.

Michael,

The only reason I believe people are allowed to re-download is its coming from your iCloud backups, otherwise it shouldn't allow it.

Our APIs have changed and iOS 7+ is now needed.

That's it? Upgrade to iOS 7+ or you can't use an app that was working just fine the day before on the iOS you currently use?

Michael,

Our app has required iOS 7.0+ for while, but our APIs allowed people to still use older versions if they were installed. Now that has updated.

I will check with the developer to see if this can be changed, but I do not believe so.

Hi Bredon, I have same problem here. I'm on iphone 4 and iOS 6. The app stopped syncing and I realised that I couldn't log in any more. Hope that the support to iOS 6 can't be restored.

As mentioned, the old app was using an API that has now been deprecated. Please update to the latest version of the app.

I've got the same problem and realised - that is because of iOS 6 + old version of the app.
Can i be +1 to those, who asks to restore the compatibility of the app with iOS 6, please?

Yes this is incredibly stupid. There are lots of people on older iPhone models that do not want to upgrade to iOS 7 and ruin battery life and speed of phone.

I bought a premium account a few months ago and now cannot use my to do list on my phone which is the reason I use todoist in the first place

Please read the last 3 messages again. It clearly said - ios6. Ok, I am not a premium user, but Michael and Justin are. And their problem is the same: login issue on ios6 and upgrade to ios7 - which will fix the problem - is not the solution. Solution is to bring compatibility with ios6 back

I'm having the same problem. I have an iPod touch version 6.1.6 (and can't update to iOS 7). Can't we still have the older version available to us?

Unfortunately, we will no longer support iOS 6. We're very sorry for the inconvenience, but our goal is to provide the best Todoist experience we can for everyone, which we couldn't with iOS 6 (not only on the client side, but also on server-side).

Apple is also dropping support for iOS 6 which would make it even more difficult to maintain a separate app and separate syncing and back-end handling designed for the old app knowing that the system will not receive certain updates necessary to make our app streamlined across platforms.

Nonetheless, our full web-app is fully HTML5 compatible so we encourage you to use it on your iOS 6 device at https://todoist.com/m/forceRegular

I switched from Wunderlist to Todoist because they stopped supporting the system I was using. And now you're making me switch again! I need a Todo list that works EVERYWHERE, not just on my latests greatest devices.

I'm very disappointed. I really liked Todoist. But it's useless to me if it doesn't run on my old(ish) iPad.

Please just switch the old iOS 6 support back on (and stop losing customers).

I've been reduced to emailing tasks to Todoist and picking them up next time I'm at my PC. It's no way To Do.

Same problem. I have ios 6 on work ipad, work mini ipad and older phone. I can't update the ios and am a premium user. I have been telling everyone how great todoist is and now can't use it. It doesn't help to have to go to the website version. I bought the app so I could use it on all of my devices. And apparently now can't even post to complain. Good job from going from great to worthless.

Very annoying for me as I have only recently paid to upgrade to Premium, so pleased was I with the functionality, only to find I cannot log in to it on my iPhone 4s. I now seem to be forced to IOS7 despite the reservations and issues this will entail. Moral is I will be VERY reluctant to pay for any "upgade" in future.

Now my App is toying with my emotions. It accurately shows today's count of open tasks, throughout the day, on it's badge but when I open it, still nothing.

Disturbing trend to stay the least.

I happen to have a new-ish phone currently so am not in this boat yet, but as one who keeps things for awhile, not always rushing to upgrade to the latest and greatest, this is very disturbing and disheartening.

As others have said, I need a task manager that will continue to work for me. This thread pretty clearly shows that ToDoist is not interested in users who aren't using the newest stuff - and likely it won't be long before a policy like that is going to alienate me as well.

Until Doist comes to its senses, and allows older iOS apps to work again, I reverted back to using http://todoist.com/m#overview. Just a bit better than the emailing of tasks option.

+1 for iOS6 support.
iOS7 is awful for anything <= iphone 5. Don't make me switch ... i'll love you just as much as Johnny Ive.

Just FWIW, I upgraded my iPhone 4s to iOS7 specifically because of this issue (and indeed much to my annoyance); however after a couple of days of moaning about the new look and feel I find it a significant improvement and not at all slow. Plus the iOS7 todoist app is a lot better than the previous version.

I agree with everyone here that this change was irritating, and if you have older hardware iOS7 may not be a viable option. But on a 4s, you'll probably be happy you upgraded.

I'm very very disappointed to hear I wont be able to use this app anymore. Todoist should at least keep functioning older versions just as other apps do. I have an iPhone 3 (lame I know) and can not buy a new one. And I shouldn't even have to since it is still working perfectly. And as I can't update to ios7 to keep the app working it is now completely worthless. I feel played. I hope something can be done to make this right. Feels wrong to be obligated to buy a new phone for this reason.

The mobile app looks like it was built in 2005 and is running over WAP.

Hi.
I have iPhone 3, and I can't upgrade my iOS to 7+ version. I don't want to buy new phone just to use your app. But I am a premium user, so can your return my money back?
