How can I transfer a project/task to a person?

R

I made a project with tasks.
I invited a person to the project.
I assigned him all tasks.
Now i am leaving the company.
I would like to close my project.
Deletion of task leads to complete deletion.
How to do this?
Rob.

Hello Rob,

Please clarify what exactly do you mean by "close a project".

You can archive a project, but it won't archive it for the other person, you can delete it which will delete everything in it, in the sharing menu, you can click on "Leave project" at the bottom which will remove you from it, but leave it for the other person. These are the only options you can perform on a project.

Best regards,
David

I am having a problem with allocating resources. I just don't seem to be able to make it work. I find it hard changing and deleting resources. Is resources meant to be available all the time? Help please.

David,

Can you clarify what you mean by resources, what exactly are you doing that you are having trouble with, what exactly happens?

Yes all data should be accessible to you at all times from all platforms.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon
This is not my question.
My question related to creating, deleting and changing assigned resources. For some reason I have difficulty handling this.
I cannot seem to find the correct way to access this part of Todoist.
Regards
David

David,

This is how you can assign tasks:

1. Right-click on a project.
2. Choose "Share project" from the right-click menu.
3. Invite someone to this project via email 9type it into the appropriate field).

Once you do that, all tasks inside this one project you've shared will get a new head-shaped icon on the right side. Click on this icon and you'll see an option to select one of the invited people.

Similarly, to un-assign someone, click on their avatar (that will replace the head-shaped icon) and choose "unassigned".

Now, what you've asked was how to "give" a project to someone. I assumed that bu that you mean - invite someone to it and then leave this project. Is that correct? If not, please specify what exactly would you want to do and I'll provide the instructions how to do that.

Best regards,
David

Hi David
What is an Avatar?
Maybe if I know this I can handle resources.
As a comment it does seem a tad complicated.
Why not just show the resource3 and change it, reqassign it ..whatever?
Regards
David

David,

Avatar is a different word for "picture", "emblem", "logo".

So, to clarify (please confirm) - you have right-clicked on a project, chosen "Share project", entered an email address to invite someone into this project?

If not - please do so and let me know, to provide the best assistance, I have to know if certain steps are already performed.

Assuming that you've done that, then when you enter the project, you should see on the right side of any task in this project, a small gray head-shaped icon - a little picture of a "portrait-type" figure. Click on it and you will see the "avatars" (emblems/logos/pictures) of the invited persons and their names (or email addresses).

Click on one - and that's all you need to do to assign this task to someone. If you want to remove an assignment, all you need to do is to just click on the same icon, but now instead of the default gray head-shaped icon/picture, you will see the "avatar" of the assigned person (but it will be in the exact same place) - click on it and choose "Unassigned".

I'm attaching a screenshot showing a project in which some tasks are assigned to people - these are shown with the avatars (pictures) of these people and some are not assigned - these are shown with the default head shaped picture. In both cases, clicking on the head will open the menu allowing you to assign the task.

Best regards,
David
