SMS notifications Not Working

Hi I have just signed up to Todoist premium and am trying to work out the SMS notifications.

The notifications work fine when I do the test SMS but they don't actually send an SMS when set as a reminder for a task.

I have read to change the settings to 'international' for location/provider, but I don't see this option anywhere in my settings.

Can you please help?

Hi Domenica,

We have made a change recently wherein we've simplified the setup process for SMS reminders. All you need to do is just enter in your number in this format "+<country code> <your number>" with no spaces.

If it still doesn't work, please tell me exactly what message you get from the error prompt.

Hi,

I'm not getting any of the SMS notifications that I set up. I just did a notification test where I set up to be notified by push notification, SMS and email and all at the same time. I received the push notification and the email, but not the SMS. So the notifications are working for me, except for the SMS ones.

Hi Domenica,

Please follow the steps below to see if something is not set up properly:

1. click on the gear icon on the upper right corner
2. select “Todoist Setting”
3. go to the “Reminders” tab
4. Look for the “Mobile phone” option and click EDIT
5. Type in your number. Make sure to format it this way: +<country code><your number>. Here’s an example: +639183058890. So you have “+” before the number, “63” as the country code, and then “9183058890” as your number.
6. After entering it, click “Send a test SMS”. There are 2 results for this:
a. you get the “OK” in the prompt and get the test SMS message
b. you get an actual error

Note: If you get an error, please attach it in your reply so we can figure out what's causing it.

Hi,

I followed the instructions.

I got the "OK" message via SMS for the test message, but when I set a reminder notification via SMS it doesn't come through. I set a push notification and email notification for exactly the same time and typed it all exactly the same way. I get the push and email notifications, but not the SMS.

Can you please tell me what exact due date you used for your test SMS reminder? I'd like to try myself to see if I can replicate the issue.

Hi,

The due date was the 14th July. Reminder was set for 'today at 22:14'

We have sent a test through our new system and you should receive a message with the content:

"Todoist SMS reminders work! Remember if your task is due "today at 10am" Todoist will send a reminder 30 minutes before this deadline!"

Please confirm:
- Did you receive this message?
- If so, do reminders work now for you?
