Cannot add location based reminders

I'm trying to add location based reminders via the desktop app but I keep getting a "Please select a location first" alert when I save even if I have provided a location.

This happens when I:
1. select from the Recent Locations list (places defined via ios);
2. and when I try to define a new location

How do I get around this? Thanks

Hi,

Please sign out of the app, and clear the cache for Safari, this removes cache from our desktop app on OSX. This should resolve the issue.

Hi Brendon. Sad to say, it didn't work. I signed out and cleared the cache, but the same thing happens. I even re-installed the application. Also tried it on Chrome and Firefox with the same results.

Hi Helena,

Please check in Safari if you're getting the problem there. If you do, please try logging out and back in again. Try to see if that has fixed the issue. If it has, you can then check the Mac app next.

You may need to log out of the Mac app and log back in again for it to take effect. Our Mac app uses Safari's web rendering engine that's why I am asking you to check Safari.

Hi Helena,

It's still not working in Safari? Or is it working in Safari but not in the Mac app? Please note you'll have to log-out and log back in again in Mac app also.

If that still doesn't fix it, you please try re-installing the Mac app again. This is really weird as the steps I mentioned has fixed the same issue that other users were experiencing.

Hi,

The fix should be the same thing though which is clearing the cache. Which browser are you using? Did clearing the cache help?

you seem like a great team !!

I have the same issue on my mac...

I have a pop-up that say " Please select a location first" (except in french, because I use the app in french..)

I does this on:
Desktop app (even after relogin)
Safari (even after cleaning the cache, multiple time, in different sequence order with the desktop app)
Chrome
Firefox

and... It work great on my Iphone!

is the some update ?

Hi Fred,

I had the same problem but clearing the cache of the Mac app solved it. If you're using version 5, there's actually a built in option for it already within the app. (See attached image) :-)

after cleaning cache and cookie (just to be sure)

now the recherche goes and select the spot (on google map I guess) what I was not even doing before

but I'm sorry to tell that I still can't finish the action... :(

Hello Fred,

Based on the screenshot, it looks like you have added one reminder and have the input field blank. Please note that as soon as this location is listed in the upper area of the reminder box - it's added. If you click on "Add reminder" again, it will look into the "Type a location" field and show you this error message if the field is blank.
