2 Gmail accounts mix-up

IK

I'm using 2 gmails simultaneously, but use todoist for only one of them, but a few days ago I relogined into the accounts and now whenever I click on the task to get to the e-mail it is about I get directed to the wrong gmail and it says the conversation doesn't exist anymore, how can I fix this?

Forgot to mention, yes, I've tried loging out and in in different order, the e-mails are already combined, so when I log into 1, I get access to all.

Hello Korj,

Please try to hover over the task in question and see if it has /u/0 or /u/1 or something like that in its URL (you'll see the preview in the bottom-left corner). Then, open an email in the account in which this message should be and see if messages in this account also have /u/0 or /u/1 (through the URL at the top).

If these parts of the URL differ, then there's unfortunately nothing we can do :-(

Best regards,
David

I found out that some of the tasks still work, some doesn't.
And the ones that have u/1 do not work, 0 ones work.

Is there a way to manually change the links from 1 to 0 in the tasks that do not work?

Korj,

Unfortunately not, but theoretically, the order of Gmail account on your Gmail login screen along with the order you're logging into them should solve this if the account that contains the mails with /u/0 will the the first one on the list and the ones with /u/1 would then point to the second account.

But it's been a few days since this first happened, so now I have tasks for both 0 and 1 mails, is there a way to change the tasks themselves?

Korj,

That's not possible. And even if you would do that, it wouldn't necessarily help as Gmail needs these IDs and it needs it to match the accounts based on the account and login order.

That said, if you've made any change to the way you log in, logged in a different order, through a different browser, anything that changes - please try to revert this change and these links should work as expected.

David

This kinda sucks =(
Half of my tasks do not lead to required e-mails now (

And the tasks are saved on the server and there's no way to just change the e-mail link attached to the task, maybe you should consider implementing this option?

Korj,

Please log out from Gmail, delete all Google's cookies from your browser, go back to Gmail, you'll see an empty screen not showing your account, log into the one that contains emails with /u/0 links in them first and then to the one that has emails with /u/1 second and this should solve the issue.

David

Too late now )
As I said I already have plenty of tasks both ways 0 and 1. So doing this will fix the old tasks, but break the new ones I've created over the past week.
I'll leave it like this, but I'd really prefer to have an option to manually change the link to the e-mail..

Hi, I'm having a similar issue -- in that I've saved tasks from two different gMail accounts, and at times when I logged into them in a different order. Can I edit the /u/1 to /u/0 and vice versa? Going forward I will always be sure I've logged into the accounts in the same order, but have quite a number of tasks that already exist, with notes in some cases, so much less time consuming if I can edit the URL directly.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Bill,

Sadly, those URLs can not be edited once they are created. There aren't any real solutions to this problem at this time.

Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

Thanks for the clarification. I'll recreate the tasks -- will take some time, but doable. I really think that the gMail integration is a very useful and powerful feature, and actually what sold me on using ToDoist FWIW, a couple of feature suggestions I'd recommend are:

1) to add a initial-info item, when the extension is first installed, advising folks that have two or more gmail accounts that login order matters and should be consistent
2) allow an advanced pull-down to enable change, by item, whether it's associated with 1st, 2nd (or 3rd...) login -- since it's just a single character, I believe, in the URL.

Thanks,
Bill

1) Totally agree, I guess it's not only Bill and me who got caught.

2) Would be awesome and yes, I also don't understand why isn't in available to adjust for advanced users.
