Syc Problems

Still again a very very important problem: Yesterday I have changed a lot of tasks on ios on ipad. I have synchronised. But on my windows desktop in windows, in outlook app and on web app the changes was only visible after check out and check in in the software. This is a terrible situation and if you cannot solve this problem very soon you will lose me as premium customer.

It is very essential that a task app functions. And the sync is very more important than a localisation update.

Hello Stine,

We're sorry to hear that. Please tell me - if you have the Windows app opened now and enter the exact same view on the iOS app, what change do you make on iOS that is not being instantly (or after 3 seconds) reflected on the Windows app without reloading it? That is - not refreshing the iOS app or the Windows app at all - whatever I've tried, it all synced right-away so far.

Best regards,

Hi David,

this happens again and again sometimes is another app open but most of time the other apps are closed. In different constellations. I don't have the desire to cope with this sync problems in future. I have already serveral times posted here and describe this sync problem in different apps and so on. I don't have the impression that your company is enganged in this sync problem. I am not the only person who post it again and again.

It seems not to be a problem of one app but it seems a general problem of sync and collaboration of the several applications. Your company promise that the todoist app does the life more simple. But the constant problems with sync which can only solved bei log out and a new log in does the life more complicated.

In this way you will lose your users.

Hi Kerstin,

Sorry that you're running into these problems. First of all, we do take sync issues seriously. However, if we don't have a replication scenario, it would be difficult to pinpoint the cause of the issue. If you have a set of steps that we can try, please do give it to us so we can confirm the problems ourselves and have it fixed by our developers.

Also, if you have more details that you think is relevant to issue, you can share them as well as that would definitely help in improving our chances of finding the cause of the problem.

Hi Clyde,

I don't think that this is a special problem of my pc or ios devices. I think that your apps are not fully developed.

There are not more details I could write you. I have changed tasks on ipad and synchronized on the morning. At afternoon I open my todoist windows and the changed tasks are not changed. I have synced the tasks on ipad again and the changes were still no yet on windows app. Only after loggin out and new loggin in the tasks were changed.

And this problem is ofter whatever app.
More is not.

I don't think so that your server sychronization does not function.

I think that the software and apps have a problem to UPDATE caches or whereever the tasks are saved on pc or ios.

I'm sorry, I haven't initially searched for your other posts, but indeed you've posted in other threads as well.

We're sorry to hear that you have an impression that we're ignoring this - we're working on improvements every single day, stress-test the apps, see what and where we can optimize and do our best to make them 100% reliable. In most cases, for most users, they already are reliable, but there are some circumstances in which they aren't and the faster we can reproduce them, the faster we can fix them.

This can sometimes be a the use of certain project structures or task properties which turns out not to update correctly, but again - we are really looking into this, we'll have another update of the iOS app coming very soon which should address hopefully all, but surely at least some of these issues for most cases.

Best regards,
