Link to gmail thread not working

DG

Here is what I am trying to accomplish and it is not working as intended:

1. I send an email to person A.
2. I open that email and use todoist to create an email task. Todoist scrapes the link to the thread as expected.
3. When I click the todoist task on my browser, I am correctly shown the relevant gmail thread.
4. When person A clicks the todoist task on his browser, gmail tells him that the thread doesn't exist.

Anyone else facing this problem?

Here is an example of a link that todoist scrapes:

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#all/14707ba068db6c15

This link works for me, but not for person A who is also on that thread.

Am I using gmail permalinks wrong? Or are gmail permalinks not meant to be shared and are just for personal use? If so, that is pretty terrible...

Hi Dhruv,

It's the latter. Gmail links are not meant to shared for security reasons. The link is only accessible to users who are currently logged in with the correct email and password. As a workaround, I suggest that you attach important email messages and attachments as notes if they're meant to be shared.
