Google calendar not syncing

L

Todoist was having issues with the syncing of recurring tasks with Google cal
This was resolved one week ago.
Everything was fine until July 2.
Since then, despite updating my recurring and daily tasks on Todoist there has been
no change in the calendar.
I did nothing different then usual. Your server is not syncing any tasks.

Hello,

Please tell me, do you have an option to test this in any other calendar software? Out iCal feed is updated (or should be) by the server in real-time and any calendar software should allow you to refresh it anytime.

Unfortunately, Google is the only exception - they're not allowing manual refresh so you must always wait for their servers to perform such refresh and they've set their servers to do that only once a day. Sometimes it's not fully reliable so if you can check it in Mac Calendar or Outlook's Calendar or anywhere else, please do so, this would at least confirm if it's an issue on our or Google's end.

Best regards,
David

I don't use any other calendar then Google.
Why should we think that it's not a Todoist issue when a similar issue with
the recurring tasks very recently?

LW,

I've only asked because based on past reports, it would not be uncommon that Google failed to perform an update of the iCal feed :-(

Please try to open your Google Calendar, go to My Calendars -> Settings, unsubscribe from Todoist's Calendar and then resubscribe to it again - this should force Google to update it. You may need to close the browser after adding it instead of waiting for the sync and Google would sync it on the back-end within a few hours at most.

David

Re-added the URL and now nothing from todoist shows up!
Clearly your server is not syncing

LW,

Thank you for the confirmation, I've passed it to the developers already and we're looking into it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

LW,

Unfortunately, I don't know when exactly it will be fixed, it depends on the complexity of the source of this issue, but once it's fixed, I will post a reply in this thread to let you know.

Really this is ridiculous that Todoist has had 2 significant issues with Google syncing over the
last month and we are paying for the service!
In addition, it takes an inordinate period of time to resolve the issue.
Does anyone know of a task list app that is as good that does not have this issue?

OK...

Well, it's fixed now.

No idea why, but it's working.

Just put in yet another CalDav URL from the Settings menu at the bottom of the page, as explained in this an similar posts.

Hi everyone,

I just signed up and became premium. I'm trying to import to Google Calendar for the first time and there is no way I can get to see my tasks on Google Calendar.

Hints?

Hello Richard,

Please add the iCal feed from Settings -> General to Google, but don't wait for it to sync, instead - close the browser and check back in an hour or so. Google should sync it all by then automatically.

Best regards,
David

Thanks David, it worked. I had to wait overnight though.

Decided this morning to integrate iCal feeds.

Unfortunately, I have the same error issue with Google Calendar, and based on the suggestions by support above, attempted a feed-connect with my Calendar app on the Mac.

Error there as well.

I'm not as petulantly-anxious O:-) as some of the other users, from the standpoint of just deciding this morning to integrate, and because as someone that fights through trouble-shooting, I'm empathetic to your current plight.

I hope the above helps. Let me know if you need anything further.

Michael,

In case of Google, please try to add it, close the browser, don't wait for it to sync and then check back the next day - Google should sync everything by then.

In case of the Calendar app, please try to use either http:// or https:// or webcal:// in the feed and see if one of these protocols work.

David

David, good morning.

"Webcal" protocol worked like a champ for Calendar.app

I'll give the google scenario a shot and report tomorrow.
