No due date

N

Is there any way to set the default due date for tasks to be NO due date? Most of my tasks are not date-specific, and it's kind of a pain to have to edit the options each time to remove the specific date.

Thanks!

Hi Noah,

I am not sure of the issue. If you do not want a date entered, do not enter a date when creating the task?

Brendon.

Issue is with iOS app, sorry. Not MacOS.

Noah,

That does not really change anything. When you create a task, you are saying a date is automatically entered, such as Today?

Brendon.

I believe this only happens when you enter a task from the default Today view. Otherwise, Todoist defaults to no date.

That's right.
When adding a task from Today view => default due date is today
When adding a task from project "X" => default project is "X"
When adding a task from Inbox => no default due date or project

Piet,

That is correct. The Inbox is more an unknown quick add area. It does not have a project of course, as you are already in there. And no due date, as it can be anything you want.

The Gmail extension automatically adds today as due date, no matter if you choose inbox or a specific project. Is there a reason why you implemented it this way?

Hi Marcel,

If you're on the Today/Next 7 Day view, today's date will be added to your tasks.

Not an Android. Today is only set for the "Today' list not the "Next 7 Day" view.

Hi David,

Thanks for pointing this out! I have now reported this to our developers so we can improve it and make the behavior in both platforms consistent with each other. :-)
