Formatting of subtitles (ie tasks without tick boxes)

CS

The newer way to format tasks as bold or italic seems to clash with the ability to show a task without a tick box.

I use tasks without tick boxes as subtitles within a project.

If I create a task called *Subtitle it shows as Subtitle without a tick box. Great. If I now use Ctrl+I or Ctrl+B to format the subtitle, I get *Subtitle formatted, with a tick box. Not what I want.

The only way to achieve what I want is to use the old method: *%(i) Subtitle%.

Can this be fixed, please? Or is the old method the only way to create formatted tasks without tick boxes? If so, it should be added to the section on formatting tasks in the help centre.

Hi Christo,

You need to add a space after it. So enter * then hit Ctrl+B then enter the information and save.

Happiness. Thanks, Brendon.

Alternatively, for others interested, one can also edit the task later but select only the text portion before hitting Ctrl+B or Ctrl+I. As long as there is a space between the * and the text, it works.

Also not mentioned in the formatting options: Ctrl+U will underline the highlighted text.
