Being taken to Inbox

B

Hi,

Is there any way that I can add a quick task (q) and not have it take me to the inbox?

I would like to be able to add tasks to the Inbox without todoist taking me away from my current view.

Many Thanks,

Hello Ben,

That's not possible, at least not directly. When using Quick Add, Todoist will only redirect you to a different view if it differs from the project or date of the task.

For example, if you're looking at a certain project and add a task via Quick Add with a due date of "tomorrow", you'll be redirected to the "tomorrow" view to see what other tasks you have scheduled for tomorrow. If you're already in the tomorrow view, it won't redirect you.

If the added task has no due date, then it will redirect you to the project to which you've added it.

We will consider changing this in future updates.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

Thanks,

I notice that the iPhone App does not do this and you can directly add to inbox, which is good.

I only use inbox for collection of ideas and funnel these into projects at the end of the week during my review so it makes no sense to see the inbox every time.

If you can suggest a workaround it would be appreciated,

Many Thanks,

Ben

Ben,

The only workaround I can suggest is to hit Alt+LeftArrow twice after adding the task. This will move you back to whatever view you were in before adding it :-)

Best regards,
David
