Can't set future reminder?

G

If I create a task and I don't set a due date, but then try to set a reminder for that task, the message I receive is "reminder can't be outdated". Could I suggest an error message more along the lines of "you can't set a reminder for a task that doesn't have a due date yet. "
"Reminder can't he outdated" is not a phrase that makes much sense in English, and also doesn't explain the cause of this problem properly.

I came here with the same problem. I don't understand what that means. I have a date and time set for my task and am unable to use any of the "before" reminders.

Hello Jade,

Please tell me - in what language are you using Todoist and what exact date and time are you setting for the task as well as for the reminder (please post it exactly as you enter it, every character matters)?

Also, please note that relative reminders ("X minutes/hours before") can only be set for tasks that have a specific due time so if the task is due "today", you can't use then, but if it's due "today at 16:00", you can.

David

I'd also like to bump the 'Reminder can't he outdated' message. This is an incorrect message, 'outdated' means 'unfashionable'. I raised this half a year ago, and it's obviously still confusing people.
Can we please get some traction on updating the message to something that actually makes sense? It's a 5 minute job, and I've even provided an example of what it could be changed to in my initial post.

English. I'm not sure which task I had attempted to set it, but I was confused when the task had a due date and time and still was giving me that message. I used a couple of the preset options. I just tried it on another and it worked okay.
