Same notification coming up time and again

TB

A notification (created by someone else for me) keeps coming up time and again on my iphone iOS7 (twice a day?). Any thoughts on how to clear it? (I've got all email and notifications ticked but only got the email once)

Hi Tim,

Is this a completed task or is this still an active task? Can you please check the reminder setup for that tasks and if possible, try changing or deleting if that's okay?

Regards,

Clyde

Hi Clyde

Its an active task that Im not keen to delete as its got a comment thread and is still outstanding. How do I change the reminder set-up?

Thank you!

Tim,

Right click on the task, and hit Reminders. This will list any that are attached to the task and whom they are for.

Brendon.

Hi Brendon

It says there are no reminders set (seemingly controlled by default settings). I think it is just a notification relating to a message created by a colleague?

Would I be renotified if someone edits the task at any point. I'm wondering if me trying to stop the notification is actually causing the notification to be re qued?

Hi Tim,

Are you referring to notifications when somebody comments on a task? We have reminders (SMS, email, push notification) and notifications for shared projects. Are you referring to the latter?

Please go to Todoist Setting -> "Notifications" tab and then disable the type of notification that you don't want to get. Please note that this will take effect to all tasks.

Regards,

Clyde

Hi Clyde

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. However I don't want to disable notifications. I just don't want to get the same one time and again.

Hi Tim,

Are these comments that we are talking about? Unfortunately, we can only set it as either to all or nothing. However, if you ask your person who's making the comments to exclude you from the people that needs to be notified, then you'll not get them anymore.

In the lower right corner of the comments window, you should see people that needs to be notified (just click on "Change"). Ask them to remove you out from that list so you'll not be part of the conversation anymore.

Clyde

Hi Clyde

The problem is not getting lots of notifications. It is getting exactly the same one coming up repeated times. Maybe 3-4 times a day. Your suggestion will just restrict the utility of the app, not solve what may be a bug unfortunately. If you think there would be a way of stopping that one notification then that would help but only if this turns out to be a one-off issue.

Cheers

Tim

Hi Tim,

Can you attach screenshots of the exact notification that you get? If you can give me examples, I may be able to understand better how to prevent it from happening. I need to know specifically what type of notification you're getting and if they're really the same.

If we found out that it's exactly the same notification and is notifying you for no reason at all, then we may need to report it to our developers and have that fixed.

Clyde
