Recurring task not showing up on calendar

Recurring tasks are still not showing up in my Google calendar.
This has been going on all week.
Please give me an estimated time for resolution of this issue.

We're very sorry for the delays, I see you've reported this issue earlier and it is on our developer's to-do list. Unfortunately, we can't give you a timeframe when exactly this will be addressed, but we're always fixing reported bugs.

To clarify, I am paying for Todoist premium and reported this problem 48
hours ago but you have not resolved this issue and can't give me a time
frame?
I would suggest if this is the case you do not have a strong enough support
staff.

We have a separate support staff and a separate development team. We have reported this issue to the developers after your report. Unfortunately, we can't implement fixes ourselves, but the devs work on them every single day, releasing updates and patches as soon as each fix is made and at the same time develop new features and improvements.

This is also becoming a real issue for me. I've commented before on the need to be able to see recurring tasks in my agenda, and the calendar was the recommended method for working around this. This also is not working right now. I'm having to either rely on memory or use yet another system to maintain a COMPLETE view of my tasks for the week so I can schedule incoming work effectively.

I don't understand how you can allow an issue as substantial as this to persist for so long
If you cannot resolve it in a timely way we should receive a pro-rated refund for our premium payment until it is resolved
Frankly, I am less concerned about the money then the lack of service
This will clearly effect how I rate this product

Hi there,

I have synced my Todoist with Google calendar and it is showing some of the tasks there but there seems to be an issue with recurring events.

Specifically, I have a task called Editorial which I have set to repeat every weekday at 2pm using "ev weekday at 2pm". I've checked this works by selecting the complete option for the task and it does indeed cycle through the working week from Monday to Friday and then on to the following Monday, excluding the weekend.

However, in Google Calendar, I can only see the Editorial task recurring at 2pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. It does not recur on Thursday or Friday of this week, nor any other week. That is, it has recurred exactly twice only. I attach a photo to illustrate.

Can anyone explain the reason for this?

Hello Jen,

That's intended. In the past, we've included infinite occurrences for every recurring task in the iCal feed, but it caused some issues with syncing or adding the feed etc. so to address it, we've limited the number of occurrences shown.

Thank you for such a swift response.

I see, then I can understand limiting the number of occurrences although I would say limiting it to three is very limiting for those who wish to sync Todoist with Google calendar, and makes having recurring tasks close to pointless. If I have missed this being stated somewhere (I searched and could not find anything except for this thread) then you can ignore but if your online user guide pages don't state this limitation then they *really* should.

The main reason I want to sync it with Google Calendar is because it offers reminders as pop-ups which, as far as I have read, Todoist doesn't offer that?

Jen,

Thank you for your feedback. Given that in case of daily tasks, tomorrow you will see the next occurrence show up for the 4th day and the day after that - for the 5th day and so on, you will always get Google's popup reminders, it will always update with the next 3rd occurrence, it will not wait for 3 days and then add the next 3.

Nonetheless, we'll look into changing this in the future.

Ah I see! OK, that is fine then. : ) Thank you for clarifying.

Re: changing it. It might make more sense to implement it this way so I am not necessarily saying it needs to be changed. But in the very least you should provide indication to users that this is how it works via your help pages etc.
