I had put labels on each task on my shared project in todoist. But when I go to each specific label, the tasks doesn't show. Am I missing something?

Hi Lesley,

Which platforms are you using and which version of each? Are you updated to the latest ones? Labels should be synced on shared projects. When did you create this project, is it new?

Brendon.

Lesley,

If using an app other then just the website version, that is what I was referring to when updated to the latest.

That being said, can you try to create a new project, and share it, and see if Labels work. We had some major changes early on that needed to have projects re-created, this may be part of that, if they are indeed old enough.

Regards,
Brendon.

OK - I tried creating a new project and moved all tasks to that project. Before I shared it, the labels worked (meaning: I saw the tasks on specific assigned labels). After I shared and assigned the task, the labels didn't work - I can no longer see the task.

Hi Lesley,

Where can't you see the labels? Please note that once you assigned a task, the task and it's labels do not count as yours anymore. Here's an example:

If I had a shared project with with four tasks with the label "@urgent" and I assigned one to somebody, here's what's going to happen:

1.) the task will not show up as due for me anymore (will not show up in the overdue, today, 7 days view)
2.) the label count will now be 3 instead of 4

Please specify exactly which view you can't see them.

Regards,

Clyde

Got it. I thought it showed up because that was the suggestion that I read from one of the feeds.

So, If I want to track a particular person's tasks, how do I do that since:

1. Shared Project does not allow me to sort by assigned person.
2. I am unable to filter tasks by assigned person.
3. Labels do no allow me to capture tasks per specific person.

Hello Lesley,

Whenever you want to include tasks assigned to other people in any view, please add :all: to the query, for example, to see all tasks assigned to anyone that have a label called "work", you can search for:

:all: & @work

The other assignment-related queries are :to_me: - showing tasks only assigned to you and :to_others: - this one shows only tasks that you have assigned to others.

You can also exclude these queries. For example, to see all tasks that are assigned to other people, but were not assigned to them by you, search for:

!:to_others:

Best regards,
David

I don't understand this. Part of the frustration is that you keep having us do tasks one-by-one only for it not to work. Ctrl and shift doesn't work for me when selecting tasks.

So I tried the labeling method. Now when I search using the label, nothing comes up?

And I can only label by a word...not a date?

Hi Christina,

May I ask which platform are you using? For most of us, by holding down either Ctrl or Shift we're able to select multiple tasks.

Would you please also tell me how did you label your tasks? And what date format are you trying to use as a label?

Menghan

Hi,

I was using Google Chrome.

I think the issue is that Todoist doesn't allow me to select multipe completed tasks...the tasks have to be "un"completed it seems.
