Development plans :: Custom filters by projects and tasks combined

I know that it has been discussed in the votebox but since it's been closed I want to ask this question again.

What is the timeline for filtering improvements? It was among top 10 most wanted features for todoist and I am one of those who need it badly.

Could you please outline how filters are going to evolve and how soon are you planning to introduce this update? I've been using todoist for more than a year already and I suffer without being able to create searches/custom filters like:

today; overdue; @office; #ProjectX

... or even

today; @phone | @office | @computer; #projectX | #projectZ

... or

tod; @home & @computer; #projectY

It seems very logical to have this capability or anything that can do the same. Please, tell me if you are working on this at the moment and why if you are not? I am sure that if it is not possible there must be a reason behind.

Please send me a private message in case you don't want to make this public.

I am desperate to have this feature so please pour some light on this topic.

Thank you for your hard work!

Cheers,
Alex

Hello Alex,

Thank you for your feedback. If nothing goes wrong, then the option to search or filter tasks by project will be part of our next update. In worst case - the one after that. So it's not a matter of if, only when... hopefully quite soon :-)

Best regards,
David

Thanks, David!

Any hint when the next update is due? Summer, autumn? =)

Cheers,
Alex

Alex,

Although we can never say for sure, we usually release updates with new features every 2 months, but again - it's an estimate.

Best regards,
David

Hi David!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for finally implementing this!

Using a hashtag for filtering projects might have been more elegant but I assume there are plenty of reasons why it can't be done.

Special thanks for sticking to the promise of delivering it in the next release! Do you think same mobile functionality will go with the next release i.e. in October or it has higher priority and will see the world a bit sooner?

Cheers,
Alex
