Automatic refresh disabled after laptop sleep

MA

I'm using the Windows 7 desktop app of Todoist.

When I put my laptop in StandBy mode by closing it, then I re-open it, Todoist doesn't get updates automatically anymore.
I have to click on the "update" button or change something for the updates to arrive.

It's not a big deal but since the "update" button is hidden (unless Todoist is in SkyCrapper mode) it's a little bit annoying.

Would there be a chance that you guys make the automatic refresh process to work all the time?

Manitra.

Hi Manitra,

Please clarify, when you wake from standby, you have to click the update/sync button for it to grab new information. Does it then start working again, or you have to do that every single time?

If you exit Todoist, and re-open does it start working again? There is no reason why it should stop updating as it normally does from going to sleep. There is a delay on wake-up that laptops have with the internet connection, but that only lasts for a few seconds or so.

If you disable Anti-Virus and similar software, does the issue still occur?

Brendon.

Yes, after clicking once, It works again normally. That's why it's a minor issue.

Anyway if I don't click on that button, the automatic refresh does start even after several minutes. Which a slight pain because I don't get the updates on shared projects neither.

Manitra,

We believe its related to the internet connection. When laptops sleep the connection is lost. Do you see a red triangle at the bottom of it when you wake from sleep? When hovering over it, what does it say?

That being said, it should of course re-connect on its own without user intervention. Our apps are built on HTML5 systems, using the Chrome engine. I believe this is a downside of HTML5 and how offline mode works. I will try to double check if there is anything that can be done about it.
