Tasks move into yesterday

RU

Sometimes when I move a Task around (e.g. from today to tomorrow) by drag & drop in the 7 day view, it works but after some time (2-5 minutes), I find them in the yesterday section, not in tomorrow.

Hi Raphael,

Do you see a pattern on when exactly this happens? Does it happen when you try this in a browser? Please double check your timezone of all your devices as problem like this can sometimes be caused by a wrong timezone configuration.

Clyde

Hi Clyde,

thank you for the quick responst. To me, this happens at random, I cannot see any pattern in this. My timezones are also correct. It is not happening very often (until now about 4-5 times). I would suspect some sort of synchronization error.

I am only using the windows application to edit and sometimes the iphone app to read.
The error occured while I used the Outlook plugin. It is now uninstalled and I am waiting, if this "fixed" the problem for me.

Hi Clyde,

will do. For testing purposes, I reinstalled the Outlook Plugin, now I can use both systems at once without the error ...
If it occurs again, I'll keep you posted.

Nice support btw., extremely quick! ^_^

Hi Clyde,

my last notice came to fast. I now have the problem again.

Situation: Outlook 2007 with plugin open, Windows application open. 9 Tasks in today, 2 in tomorrow. Task A is in tomorrow, task B is in today, task C is in today.

Action: Drag and drop Task A from tomorrow to today.
Result: Task A is in today. Task B disappears in today and appears in yesterday.

Action: Drag and drop Task B from yesterday to today.
Result: Task B is in today. Task C disappears in today and appears in yesterday.

After 10 tries, all tasks stayed in today.

Deleted Outlook plugin again, no error since.

I'll hope this helps.

Greetings,
Raphael

Hi Raphael,

Thank you for the details! You mentioned "no error since" you deleted the Outlook plugin again. Do you mean you re-installed it and is not getting the problem anymore?

If you redo the same steps, do you get the same problem every time? If you do, that's good news since we have a replication scenario that we can report back to our devs.

Please let me know.

Regards,

Clyde

Hi Clyde,

"no error since" means that without the Outlook plugin, this problem does not occur. It is now uninstalled because I don't need it (I had it installed just for testing this bug). After the first occurrence of the error, I reinstalled it, to recreate the bug.

The main problem is that it is not easily replicable. It only occurs when both systems are active at the same time (on the same computer). But the problem does not happen at every switch of days. I cannot see a more detailled pattern than "sometimes" ;-)

Raphael

Hi Raphael,

I'll pass this along to our developers. Unfortunately, it's a bit hard to fix intermittent issues but we'll take a look it.

Thank for being patient while we're trying to sort this out, it's much appreciated. :-)

Regards,

Clyde

Hi Clyde,

I know it is rather difficult to fix rarely reproduceable errors.

As you offer close to 1000 different ways to use Todoist, it is pretty simple to be patient ;)

Raphael
