More and more apps have an Evernote integration... One of the leading task apps not! Why??
What type of integration did you have in mind for integration? We're always open to new and great ideas that would make Todoist even better. Unfortunately, there are several factors to consider when adding a feature in. For one, one most commonly cited reason why people love Todoist is it's simplicity so we're always careful when adding a feature.
With said, we'd love to hear your ideas on how such integration is going to work. I understand that we have a Votebox pages worth of this but I'm curious about your particular workflow. :-)
Thanks in advance!
In the task detail/notes window, in addition to Dropbox and Google Drive , can we add Evernote as well (then the user can select a note within his/her account to link)?
Yes, that is a good way to integrate. At the moment I can paste an Evernote link into the notes field, but it would be better to see the titel of the Evernote note. So I know what information from Evernote it is.
Hi Leo and Gerwin,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If you're working with Evernote in the web, you can actually use the Chrome extension for these as it saves links and the name altogether. That might be a workaround while there's no integration yet. :-)
Yes Clyde, but the titel is always "Evernote Web" and I have to change it
by my own with copy & paste from the Evernote note titel. This workaround
works only when I create a new task. When I want to bring an Evernote note
to an existing task I only can copy the link from Evernote...

Quick thoughts on Evernote Integration:
* Evernote Reminders
Evernote added reminder features a few releases back. It would be great if ToDoist could import these reminders. If I set a reminder on an Evernote note, with or without a due date, it would be awesome if ToDoist grabbed the title of any note with a reminder and added it as a task in Todoist (with the date if appropriate, undated if it's simply an undated reminder).
One way I use Evernote Reminders to flag articles I've clipped but want to read latter. It would be super handy to have this list in ToDoist so I can include "reading time" in my tasks when I'm planning my day.
Another way I use Evernote Reminders is to flag notes that are time relevant. For example - a note with a list of gift ideas for my husband's birthday. I set a reminder on this note for a few weeks ahead of time. It would be great if this showed up in ToDoist, dated with the date I set in Evernote, and with an easy link back to the note. Or - if we're talking big wish list here - I would love a "quick preview" option that perhaps showed the Evernote not in a hover over window that I could then click on to be taken to the note itself. (But sometimes, a quick glance at the note is all I would need, and it would be awesome to not have to actually open the link.)
The Evernote integration is what keeps me using Remember the Milk
I was a big supporter of RTM and Evernote integration until I discovered TaskClone. It doesn't work with Reminders in Evernote but copies tasks from your notes and then links the Todoist task back to the original note.
It's great for meeting notes, where you end up with a list of tasks that should be tracked individually yet you want to link back to the original evernote note.
It would be TOTALLY awesome to get Evernote Reminders put into todoist. Now that I'm using Evernote more and more, I'm considering leaving todoist for something else that offers this functionality (and I'm a premium/power user of todoist and have brought several team members on board) ... lacking that essential functionality is going to send me elsewhere. How soon can you integrate that; I'd hate to leave and have to retrain my team for something else.
Yeah, I went Todoist premium thinking I would be able to link my Evernote from within the note feature in Todoist. Taking the simplicity Todoist provides and avoid doing something crazy in Evernote like http://www.thesecretweapon.org/ which is super complicated to set up. As others have experienced I end up with a hyper link that says Welcome back which isn't the end of the world but is still annoying. Also, it opens the web note rather than opening the note locally or it does both which is also annoying.
I use evernote for storing information. Ex. http://www.challies.com/resources/kindle-evernote-%E2%99%A5 . Which walks through storing notes and highlights from amazon books into Evernote. That is a functionality I would never expect Todoist to have nor would I want it. I would sooner give up Todoist in favor of Evernote because I already have so much information stored bu :-) t it would be great to have cleaner integration. Todoist strength is in its simplicity taking on the ability to attach files and voice notes and almost becoming an archive system diminishes the simplicity. Where as a direct link to Evernote would allow for simplicity to remain within Todoist and extend functionality for those that choose to venture toward the more complicated.
I would like to be able to have my email ported into Evernote deal with it there and link the notes in the same fashion as the ability to add an email from outlook to Todoist. That one simple integration would increase Todoist's usefulness exponentially with out decreasing simplicity. :-)
I would also love this kind of integration. Functionalities described by Laura H suits my needs.
Well, todoist is really simple and thats the main thing with it, for me, I just need to have all my referal material with me, not as a task, because I will never "do it", just "keep it" there even when you end any project. Without affecting "karma" or vanish it by completing.
And of course would be great to use just one app to do both.
Yes please! Evernote integration is what I am looking for. this is the only thing that stops me from leaving RTM.
I'd also like evernote/todoist integration like Laura H. described.
My RTM subscription expired last week and I will have to resub with them rather than using todoist
The Zapier integration (free for a few zaps, paid for more) takes Evernote Reminders as they are created and turns them into Todoist Tasks. https://todoist.com/blog/2014/03/todoist-is-now-on-zapier-connecting-tasks-to-over-280-apps/ The specific zap is here: https://zapier.com/zapbook/evernote/todoist/32741/evernote-new-reminder-to-todoist-create-task/ (not sure if that is a public link).
I just set this up - really quick and easy and it works.
I just got the e-mail about the new Karma features in ToDoist and would love to move my task management to you guys as the app looks great. With that said I'm having a hard time understanding why evernote integration has not been more of a priority. I'm sure there are others like me who joined todoist years ago only to leave because this feat does not exist.
Evernote has become many peoples central repository for information. What it doesn't have in my opinion is a great way to turn that repository into a structured workflow. ToDoIs has exactly this....these two tools should be working together.
Please let me know if this is something that is on a specific roadmap so that I can check back. If this was a feature I'd sign up as a premium member immediately and scream to the rooftop to everyone willing to listen why this is a great way to manage workflow.
PS: Zapier is ok...but it's not a substitute for this core functionality.
Please refer to my reply in this thread: https://todoist.com/Support/show/27830/
David you link to your Nov'13 reply, is not relevant the ability to vote appears to be closed. In the circumstances please answer the Jamaal's question, which is pretty much the same question that was asked a year ago.
The thread I linked to is to my reply from Oct 10 (today) as Jamaal sent the same comment to multiple threads. This is my reply I've posted there today:
"Yes, it is on our roadmap, but unfortunately we can't say when exactly it will be added. It could be still this year, but we can't promise it as if we experience some issues down the road, we'll postpone it rather than publish it not working correctly."
No native Google calendars management, no Evernote integration as inbox and/or Archive, but we got bells and whistles like new karma features and sharing.
I don't want to advertise another service, so I will not mention the name, but there is at least one online service that HAS both those features which I want badly. Only thing is it follows the GTD methodology which is too strict for me.
At this time I transferred all my data in Evernote and deleted all in Todoist, waiting to decide if I'll make the jump
Yes, I think an Evernote integration is a great way to increase productivity, specially for project support material. I´m wondering me, too, that we got more Karma and so on. Not very important new features, in my view...
+ bulk task creating
+ copy tasks
+ task templates
+ contact integration
This are time savers for me!
Evernote Integration, please!
Here's another hearty vote for Evernote integration. Biggest things, for me, are:
1. Sync notes with Evernote reminders, either as task or project.
2. Sync checklist items as tasks / indented sub-tasks.
3. Let me attach an Evernote note to a task.
Love Todoist! keep it up!
I would also love to get the integration with Evernote. I'm using another task manager, which offer this integration, and it's so convenient.
In this task manager, you just type the name of the Evernote note, and select it. After when clicking on it you can see the note in a popup.
I think that Todoist is really convenient and fast, with some really handy features, but unfortunately because tof this "missing" integration with Evernote, I can't use it for everything...
As everybody mentioned, this is a feature that many other apps provide.
