Syncing not working on web/iphone/mac/ipad

J

I mainly use Todoist on my work PC in my office. When I sync on my iphone on my way home, and on my mac when I get home, tasks I completed in the office still show up, even tasks that are very old. I can see on my PC that I've checked them as completed, but they're still on my phone/mac. On the ipad the syncing is so horrible I don't even bother.
I've deleted and reinstalled the app on my iphone and mac. I've also checked I've logged in the same way (username/password) on all three.
What's going on? Thanks. X-(

Hi Jennifer,

Sorry to hear you're having problems with sync. Are you using the latest version of the iOS apps? All of the steps you mentioned should have addressed that already.

I personally use the iOS apps on a daily basis. Checking it right now, sync seems to be working fine. We have not gotten any report today about syncing issues from other users. Typically, when the problem is on our end, we'll hear about it hear and on our social media accounts.

Did you experience this days/weeks ago and is it ongoing now? How's the internet connection with your iOS devices? Can you also tell me the version of iOS you're running. The more info we get, the better chances we have in resolving the issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Clyde

Should also have said: I'm using Chrome at work. And I logged off/on a bunch of times on all three; still no luck. Thanks.

Hi Jennifer,

Can you please provide me the info that I stated above? That will a lot in figuring what the problem is.

I know you've also mentioned that you verified that you're using the same account, please check it again, I noticed that there are multiple accounts link to the last IP address used.

Clyde

Hello,
Thanks so much for your quick reply.

I'm running version 7.1.1 on my iphone, I'm not sure about my Mac as it's
at home, but I know I've updated it quite recently. On my phone I just
looked in Settings and can see I installed an update on June 6. My internet
connections are excellent with both.

I just went through `Today' on my iphone and I can see all the same tasks
as in Chrome, including tasks that are 2,3, and 4 days overdue, it looks
the same. But on my iPhone there's a task from June 3 that's outstanding,
whereas in Chrome it's completed. I just did a search in Chrome to try to
find it and it's not there.

This problem has been happening for a while, at least a few weeks, but I've
been too swamped with work to try to sort it out.

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi Jennifer,

Did you change your password recently? When you originally signed up, did you use your Google account or just signed up for a new Todoist account manually? We had one user experience a similar issue. The same email address but was pointing to 2 separate locations and that's why it seemed like it's not syncing.

If you remember 2 passwords for Todoist, try using them and log-in in the Mac app and see which one brings up the most updated tasks.

Again, really sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Clyde

Hi,
It was a while ago so I don't really remember, though I can try when I get
home. But I'm logged on the same way (username and password, not through a
google account) on Chrome and on my iPhone, so would it really matter?
Also, a task I created on my iphone this morning is visible on Chrome, so
it seems they are syncing, just not completely.

Hi Jennifer,

It was worth checking out as none of the basic steps have worked for you. If it's syncing partially, then the problem is not the same with the example that I have brought up. If you're logging in the same way (not using the sign in using Google option), then that shouldn't make a difference. Please try it anyway, re-logging again and make sure to use the same method in all of your devices. Keep posted on how it's going. Thanks!
