Projects view confusing nesting - wrong icon shown

Hi!
This is not a consistent "bugg" and it shows from time to time, as if the UI doesn't fully update what I'm doing while looking at my projects.
Since I have grouped projects in a nested structure (1,2,3 levels of nesting) the little icon that shows if a project is opened or closed doesn't always work correctly.

Please see the screenshot, it explains everything.

Sorry, forgot - I'm using Chrome on Mac and a Todoist as a Pinned Tab.

Hi Dragan,

Issues that are not replicable are a little bit harder to fix since we need to do a little bit of digging to find out where the problem is but nonetheless I'll pass this along to our developers.

If you do find any patterns at all, please let us know as that will help in fixing the issue faster.

Regards,

Clyde

One pattern is that in order for the icon/arrow to point in the right direction (when this occurs like in my screenshot), I need to click on it twice.
The first click makes the icon show in the right direction but doesn't affect the sub-projects in any way.
The second click collapses the nested projects under it.

The wrong arrow/icon direction is shown _only_ when that group is opened, never if I have the whole structure collapsed.

I've noticed this _only_ in the projects that have several levels of nested/indented sub-projects, never in case I have single projects and the tasks in the middle pane.

It always happens with the _main_ project, none of the sub-projects shows this kind of icon behaviour.

So there you go :-), some little pattern to start with..

I have to correct myself here:
"I've noticed this _only_ in the projects that have several levels of nested/indented sub-projects, never in case I have single projects and the tasks in the middle pane."

Of course it won't happen because there's no sub-project in this case and there's no arrow icon shown.

But check this other screenshot, this is the only project where the issue happens..

Hello Dragan,

Unfortunately, after 5+ minutes of trying different combinations, projects structures and browsers, I couldn't trigger it even once :-(

We'll keep looking into it, but just to be sure, please try to go to Chrome's Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data, find and delete all Todoist-related entries there, reload Chrome, log back in and see if the issue persists.

I remember this being a problem in the past (also with tasks) and it should have been fixed.

Best regards,
David

Thank you for the follow up and for trying to provoke this issue...
I did as you advised and now I'll give it a couple days to see what ahppens.
So far so good.

Maybe this helps, please see the pic here (icon-closed.jpg). I've worked in the Inbox mostly (on the web TD) and was sorting/moving the tasks to projects by either dragging or using the three dots to the right from the task title and sorting from there..
Then I noticed this icon in the project group named "SOFTWARE projects" showing "closed" although the projects nested under it were shown.

I'm pretty sure the problem occurs only where I have a complex structure - one main project group, then a nested group of projects bellow, then another under that etc. Please see the pic "many nested projects.jpg"

Hi Dragan,

Thank for the additional info! We can't still replicate the issue but this will certainly help in finding the cause and fix for this issue.

Clyde

This seems that have been solved, see also another thread:

After emptying the cache in Chrome, restart, logout / login to TD, all OK.
Thanks guys!
