sync with ical apple calendar export ics?

D

Hi,

I would like to be able to have complete integration between apple calendar and todoist.

ie the scheduled tasks in todoist appear at the scheduled time in icalendar. You can then move the task in ical, which updates todoist.

This would make things SO much easier for me in terms of planning my life.

Which is what Todoist is meant to do, right?

Thanks

Hi

This is something we hope we can integrate in future updates. We also know better calendar integration is highly thought after. I can not say when this will happen, but it's fairly likely.

Brendon

Hi

Thanks for your response. But where is the ics export option?

Hello,

To see your tasks from Todoist in any calendar software that support the iCal/CalDAV/ics format, please import the feed using the URL at the bottom of the Settings (gear icon at the top) -> General window.

Best regards,
David

That's not what I meant.

There were two options, one exported an ics file. you could import and then move the tasks around in the calendar.

thanks,

Hi,

We removed the ICS download option as it was causing major issues with reminders and certain clients. Though, it allowed the same capabilities as adding from the URL.

Brendon.

No, as the url doesn't allow you to move the tasks around in calendar - the feature I'm looking for...

Can you reenable the ICS download? It was very useful.

Hi,

We may do so in the future. Are you saying you moved the tasks around in the calender, and it actually changed the times etc for Todoist, as this is not something that should be possible.

Regards,
Brendon.

Nope just on my calendar. the ics file made entries disconnected from todoist. But it helped me plan to move them around.

Obviously some kind of integration is the holy grail here, but that was helpful

The url is better than nothing, but v static anyone kinasthetic will want to move their tasks around in a calendar, especially on the ipad etc

Hi, I've just upgraded and would like to import my Todoist tasks to Apple Calendar 7.0 - could you explain how to do the above a little bit more clearly?

Hi Mark,

You can follow the steps below so you can integrate your Todoist account with the default Apple Calendar.

1. Click on the gear in the upper right corner and select "Todoist Setting"
2. Under the "General" tab, copy the URL that's shown on the bottom part of the screen
3. Go to the Calendar app and click on "File" -> "New Calendar Subscription"
4. Paste the URL that you got from the settings page and then click on "Subscribe"

Clyde

Hi I did that successfully but now think I should have set the update more regularly - I set it to once a day but would like it more frequent that that. Can I change this?

Hello Mark,

If there is no option to change this, please try to delete the calendar and then subscribe again using a different interval :-)
