Upgrading from Premium to Business

MF

I just received the invitation to switch to Todoist for Business. I have already purchased premium for my entire staff, how do we transition from premium to business?

Hello,

Right now, it's unfortunately not possible to "move" your current Premium status to Business. You can start the free Business trial, but then you'd need to pay a monthly or annual fee (as you choose), even if you or your team already has Premium.

This is something we certainly won't maintain, we're working on changing this and are starting to work on it now.

For now, if you would decide to move over to Biz while being Premium, please send us the order reference ID of your original Premium payment and we will manually add the Premium time you've already had to your Biz account.

We're sorry for this inconvenience, this will change very soon and you'll be able to move from Premium to Biz with no issues or loss of the current Premium time.

Best regards,
David

I currently have a premium account. is it advisable/possible for me to keep my premium account but have my business partner sign up for business (with the hopes that I could eventually just "move" my current account to Business)? Thanks!

David,
Thanks for your reply, will all the projects in perm now show up in biz, or will I have to re-enter them in biz?

Hi,

Melba, if you are both on the same team/company then there is really only need for one TD Business account. Once one account is upgraded, you just add the other one to that account through the Admin Panel. Any account can upgrade to Business.

Kevin, the data you have already setup stays the same, the details are within the account, and what is possible with that account.

Regards,
Brendon.

Before I try the Business Edition of Todoist, I can only see a small difference between the two offerings. 1) Account Management; which is nice if you have numerous users, 2) 50 projects vs 25 for premium users (more is always good).

I can't migrate my existing account to the Business Account, but that's in the works.

Is there anything that I am missing?

Is it more robust, more flexibility in programming, more priority settings, etc....?

I would say tempt me to spend more money, oh, but they are the same price! :-/

Hi Barry,

You are correct. This should show you the main differences, which you mostly have mentioned. https://todoist.com/business/pricing

To put it simply, it adds features to help you manage teams.

Brendon.

Thanks Brendon.....why not give the premium users the 50 projects as well since most of us don't need to manage teams?

I could dump my secondary task manager is this was the case.

We have the same issue here - in that a number of my team have purchased the premium edition - but I would like to migrate my entire team to the Business version.
Could someone advise where I can locate the Transaction ID?
Thanks

I cant find any email from you that includes the Transaction ID.

Would you be able to locate it if I send you my email address?

Hi David,

When did you purchase your premium membership? Please note that each premium member receives his or her own receipt in the email that they used to sign up for Todoist.

Can you also let me know why you need the transaction ID? Is it for a refund for the premium membership?

Regards,

Clyde

Glenn,

In the top right corner of Todoist, click the gear icon and then Todoist Business. This will give the option to sign up for it. Any left over Premium is now credited automatically towards your account.

Brendon.

Hi,
In fact, I have the same problem.
I bought a Premium account yesterday but wish to upgrade to Business.
I can sign up for the free trial of course, but how can I get refunded of my Premium payment or use the amount paid for the Business account ?
Thanks
Chris

Hello Chris,

I can confirm that according to our database, your Business account has a balance of €20.93 which is the value of the unused Premium time.

That said, if you'd choose to keep Business and pay for it as 1 user, your first invoice will generate a charge on your credit card for €0.07 since you'll be purchasing a year of Premium via Business and most of it will be covered by the account balance.

David
