Cursor invisible sometimes

Using Todoist for Mac 4.1.5 (147), sometimes the cursor is invisible when editing or creating items. I think it's going on holiday. :)

Running Mac OS 10.9.3 on a MacBook Air 13-inch, Mid-2013.

Any suggestions? Quitting and re-launching fixes it, sometimes...

Hi Dave,

So you mean that when editing for creating a task, the cursor goes away and does not come back? It will indeed be hidden when you are typing something, as it will just show the flashing bar when doing so.

Brendon.

The cursor totally vanishes when creating or editing items - it's difficult to see, especially if I want to edit the middle of a task item. Can't see where I'm trying to type, you know? :)

Hello Dave,

Do you see any patterns at all to this behaviour? Is it only happening for the Mac Todoist app or are you getting the issue with other apps as well?

I use the Mac app on daily basis both for Personal tasks and Work. However, I have not seen this happen issue before. With that said, it doesn't mean the problem does not exist so the more info we get about it, the better our chances of reproducing it and fixing it for good.

Best Regards,

Clyde

Hi Clyde! Only with the Mac Todoist app.

I'm still on the latest version.

Haven't been able to identify a pattern yet. :-)

As a workaround, I'm using the web app.

Dave,

You can try signing out, and then clear the cache (reset) Safari which will reset the cache for our Mac App.

Though to be clear, once it disappears, it does not come back? Or at which point does it come back?

Brendon.

I'll try clearing my cache if I'm bored :)

If the cursor disappears, I quit Todoist, then re-launch.

For fun, I didn't quit, and tried editing a few items. Sometimes the cursor would be missing, and sometimes it would appear. So weird.

Dave,

It is very strange. I do not believe our app can have any effect on a curser, at least not if I am understanding the coding and how it's built. That would indicate an issue with the system its running on. That being said, if it does not occur on any other apps, then its hard to say.

As I said, it does disappear when typing, that is the normal situation for systems, but it should come back once done. Maybe somehow it's getting locked in that position.

Regards,
Brendon.

There's probably a weird combination of issues at hand.
If someone else runs into this, that would help us troubleshoot...
A cursor disappearing ENTIRELY during text editing is a little bizarre.

To be precise, when I write cursor, I'm referring to the blinking "I" bar, not to my mouse cursor (which stays visible for me).

If I can figure out what's up, I'll share it here! Thanks Brendon.

FYI, this hasn't happened to me for a really long time. Bravo ;-)
