Hello Thomas,

If you make changes elsewhere, then our servers will attempt to connect to the app on our end and if it's online, it will then sync.

If you don't make any changes anywhere, then hovering over the red triangle indicating offline status should show you the time when it will attempt to sync again.

Best regards,
David

David,

I'm afraid that's not the case. Please see screenshot.

By the way, thanks for being an exceptionnally responsive support team! :)

Thomas,

Please try to click on the triangle and see what it says then, I believe you should the see a message including the next sync attempt. Let me know if that's not the case and I'll pass it to our developers.

David

Hi David,

I can confirm that it works when I click on the triangle. But then this means that the app does not attempt to sync without user interaction, correct?

Thomas,

It does try to connect. I think it's 5 minutes by default, I'll ask the developers to be 100% sure and will let you know what's the exact time of the first sync attempt.

David

Thomas,

According to the developers it indeed will never try to sync by itself when offline if you don't make a change (or click on the reg triangle to force the sync).

Hi David,

Would it be possible to change this? Consider the following usage case:

I always have TD open on my laptop. I add some tasks while offline.
I arrive home, I would like to just be able to wake my laptop from sleep and have everything sync without having to do an extra step. Or perhaps you could set it to sync when it receives an internet connection.

Best Regards,

Thomas

Thomas,

If you add tasks offline, they will be there when you wake up your laptop. If you make any changes online, they will be pushed to you and the app will sync.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding it, but I can't think of a situation where it would be possible to make any changes and not see them. If you use a mobile app offline, the mobile app would have to sync and if it does while the laptop is offline, then there's no way it could sync anyway. And if the laptop is online, then again, the mobile sync would cause the laptop to update the data.

Please post an example mentioning what devices you're involving in the process and their online status.

Best regards,
David

Hi,

Thanks David, I tested it and I can confirm it does indeed sync up the changes from the Laptop when another instance of the app is opened. The usage case I was thinking about is already covered.
