Mac vs iPad vs iPhone not syncing consistently

I have ToDoist on my Mac, iPhone and iPad. Syncing is inconsistent. The Mac version seems to stay pretty well up to date with changes from the other devices, but the iPad and iPhone seem to omit recognition that a task was completed on another device. Not every time, but sometimes. If you look at ToDoist on each device, they show different tasks as being overdue.

iPad: Version 8.2 (12079)
iPhone: Version 8.2 (12079
Mac: Version 4.1.5 (147)

They all are set up with the same account, and all show that they have just synced.

I am having the same issue - the only way to sync is to log out on my phone and then log back in. not a practical solution, considering that we are all paying a premium to have this working across all our media

Yep. That did it. Agreed, not an elegant solution. The web based version is always correct, but somehow the iOS versions do not properly sync with the online version on a net change basis. As there is clearly a disconnect on recognizing changes, a nice interim solution would be a regen or reconnect button that could handle the login/logout without user intervention, or better yet, periodic reconnections performed automagically.

Hello,

Please try to completely delete and reinstall the iOS app and let us know if the issues persist.

Best regards,
David

I have done this before, and it clears it up for the moment, same as with just a logout/login, but I'd be happy to try it again.

Adding my two cents; same issue here. Really irritating, and thought that I missed some of my tasks that I marked as complete! Will try the "fix" now...

Same here. I switched to ToDoist from Any.Do because of their similar syncing problems. ToDoist's syncing has been rock-solid for many months now, but recently seems to have become unreliable. I have just deleted and re-added the app, but (as mentioned) this is not a good solution.

Kurt,

Let us know if it does indeed continue. We are looking into sync issues at the moment.

Regards,
Brendon.

The issues are continuing. For no reason I can detect, some things marked as complete on the Mac update on my iPhone, and some do not. Just now, accessed ToDoist on my iPhone and watched as some tasks updated and disappeared, while others that were completed on the Mac still show and active tasks. Resyncing does not clear them. I'm sure if I login/logout, that will do it. Performing that now.

Yes, logout/login causes it to be fully in sync with my Mac.

Hi,

Can you try removing the Mac app, try using an app like AppCleaner to make sure all is removed. Then reset (clear cache) for Safari, reboot the system and then reinstall the app.

This is a long shot and we are still looks onto this.

Regards,
Brendon.

Brendon,

I have removed and reinstalled the Mac app before. Do note that the online version stays in sync with my Mac, but somehow, the iPhone version only picks up some of the changes from the online system.

So, it really seems to be a problem between the iOS systems and the online databases?

David,

You are correct, it's most likely an issue with our iOS app and we are looking into issues with this. There are cases where one of the platforms could cause issues on other platforms, so I thought it was worth a try.

That being said, we hope to find a solution soon.

Regards,
Brendon.
