Notes not appearing


None of my notes are appearing when using the web client. They were appearing earlier as I had used it and clicked a few links in notes.

This is happening for all notes in all projects.

Validated/replicated in both Chrome and Firefox.

Is this a known issue/ any workaround?

Note additions are being recorded, because the counter is incrementing when I add new ones.

I can only see the timestamp of the first note that was added, but not the actual note, or the timestamp and notes of subsequent note additions.

In one test a newly added note was added successfully, but when I closed and re-opened the task notes it was gone. The note counter number was still correctly updated, though.

On another task, I added a new note and it worked.

Hi Bruce,

So you click on the notes icon of a task, type something and click the Add button. It then appears in the notes list, or does not?

If it does, you close it, come back later and it's gone?

I can't seem to reproduce this. If you view this on the mobile version, or say even IE (just to test) does the notes show up? Do your tasks show up, if you add a new one?

Hi Brendon,

I don't use Todoist on mobile, but I replicated this on IE, Firefox and Chrome, all on two different computers. I cleared my local cache as well.

The issue is hard to nail down but it is still happening.

Simply, adding a new note to some tasks is causing the note to immediately disappear and upon re-opening the notes, the note still is not visible. All pre-existing notes that precede the new note are also hidden. They don't disappear when I add the new note, they are hidden from the beginning. The only thing that is visible for these notes is the time stamp of the first pre-existing note.

There are some tasks where the notes appear and if I add a new note, it stays. For these tasks, the all previous notes and all new notes are visible.

At least the problem can be replicated consistently for problematic tasks, and normal behavior can be replicated consistently for tasks without the issue.

The only thought i haveI sometimes add notes that are simply URLs such as "http://www.google.com/". I can't see what the original notes on these problematic tasks are, but they might be URLs. Otherwise, it is plain ASCII text.

Tested further and cannot replicate this issue with new tasks or other existing tasks. It seems there is just a set of tasks in my projects that are bugged. I am going to delete the old ones and recreate them.
