+ Add Question

Assign tasks, mark as complete, re-order tasks & create sub-tasks.

BF

Rather than write three separate questions, I'm going to bundle them together. So far I'm using the free version. Will decide on upgrading based on the answer to my issues. I'm using OSX, iPad, iPhone & web browser (Chrome & Safari)

1) there is no option to assign tasks, although there is an option to filter by assigned tasks. How do I assign tasks? Or is this a paid feature?

2) on both the OSX app and web browser, there's no option to mark tasks as complete. On the iPhone & iPad apps I'm able to mark them as complete. there never was an option, even first time I used them. How do I mark tasks as completed on the OSX app and web browser?

3) on the OSX app and web browser I'm able to re-order tasks, but not on the iPhone & iPad apps. How do I re-order tasks on the iPhone & iPad apps?

4) on the iPhone & iPad apps I'm able to add sub-tasks, but not on the OSX app and web browser. How do I add sub-tasks on the OSX app and web browser?

Many thanks in advance for a comprehensive reply.

Hi Brian,

>> 1) there is no option to assign tasks, although there is an option to filter by assigned tasks. How do I assign tasks? Or is this a paid feature?

Assigning tasks to collaborators is available for free and premium users. You need to share a project first to somebody and then you'll have the option to assign it. Here's a video that shows you how to share projects: http://todoist.com/Help/Sharing

>> 2) on both the OSX app and web browser, there's no option to mark tasks as complete. On the iPhone & iPad apps I'm able to mark them as complete. there never was an option, even first time I used them. How do I mark tasks as completed on the OSX app and web browser?

You just have to click the checkbox to complete a tasks in the Mac app and web app.

>> 3) on the OSX app and web browser I'm able to re-order tasks, but not on the iPhone & iPad apps. How do I re-order tasks on the iPhone & iPad apps?

You just have to tap and hold to be able to re-order tasks in our iOS app.

>> 4) on the iPhone & iPad apps I'm able to add sub-tasks, but not on the OSX app and web browser. How do I add sub-tasks on the OSX app and web browser?

You can do this 2 ways:

1.) Edit a task,
2.) Hover on the 3-dot icon on the right
3.) Click on the last two icons to change the indentation of a task

Or you can use the keyboard shortcut:

1.) Edit a task
2.) Press CMD + LEFT/RIGHT key

Please let me know if you have any follow up questions. :-)

Best Regards,

Clyde
