BC

I've tried this on Web and Windows, I cannot get Google Drive file upload working. Nothing actually happens when I click it. I've associated my Google Account with my Todoist account in Settings.

Hi Brian,

Can you please make sure that the pop-up window for the Google Drive authentication page is not blocked?

Not blocked as far I can tell, I have popup-blocking on Chrome turned off completely.

And I get an error dialog about "Drive only being supported in Web and mobile". I'm on the Web...latest version of Chrome.

Hello Brian,

Please let us know what version number does your Chrome have exactly? The latest final build is 34.0.1847.131 m and I can't reproduce it on it.

For me, it did notify me that a popup was blocked, I allowed it, triggered the popup manually and it still didn't work until I reloaded the browser. From now on it seems to work every time.

Are you logged into the correct Google Account at the time you try to upload a file?

Best regards,
David

I am logged into the correct Google Account, and it is still throw the dialog box error of:

"Drive support only works on Web or our mobile apps".

I tried logging out, and logged back into Todoist with my Google Account credentials.

Brian,

I still can't reproduce this issue :-( Just to clarify - when you've connected yoru Todoist account to your Google account, you were already logged into the same account in Google (as technically, you could use a different email address in Todoist and authorize a different Google account for it)?

Also, please try to use a different browser just to see if it only happens on Chrome (the Windows app is also Chrome - a frame with Chromium engine).

David

Hi,

I would just like to add that for me this is working and initially Chrome blocked the popup as well. I am using Chrome version 34.0.1847.131 m.

I do have two related remarks however:
- It is a bit difficult to click the Google Drive link because it is just a hyperlink on the text and not a div.
- Sometimes a white screen appears instead of showing the Google Drive interface. This actually happens about 50% of the time for me, so this may be an issue for other people as well.

If I can help by doing some more testing, please let me know.

Regards,

Karel

Karel,

We're looking into the remaining issues right now.

As for clicking on the link - even though it's not a DIV, the entire text is linked and I can't reproduce a situation where it could be not clickable or difficult to click as you don't have to aim exactly ad the lines of each letter. Let me know if that's not what you meant and see if it also happens in another browser.

Best regards,
David

I still cannot get this to work on the Web. I was previously logged into my google account, logged out of Todoist, cleared browser cache/history, closed Chrome, logged back in, and now when I click Google drive after clicking the file icon, nothing happens, nothing.

Works great on Android though :-S

Thanks for your reply David.

At work it seemed to behave in the manner I described. At home however, it works as you described.

That's a none issue then.

Currently when I click on upload a Google Drive link, it opens up a new tab in my Chome browser, and then freezes, does not bring up any Google Auth page or anything. I get this url:

https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/auth?client_id=600979030768-7o35cjq1gv138e22oj0j39u0bp0mn3hj.apps.googleusercontent.com&scope=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fdrive.readonly&include_granted_scopes=true&proxy=oauth2relay888790251&redirect_uri=postmessage&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwin.todoist.com&response_type=token&state=217889068%7C0.168562543&authuser=0

Hello Brian,

So, to clarify, you're referring to what happens when you try to upload a file using the Windows app, correct?

If so - it won't work because the app behaves like an extension of Chrome and Chrome unfortunately doesn't allow file upload through extensions. We hope Google will change this in their Chromium engine and then it would start working in our Chrome-based apps too.

David

I created a todoist.com Fluid app <fluidapp.com> so that I could get desktop notifications which Todoist lacks it as well as upload files from Google Drive since the Mac OS app lacks that feature as well, and Fluid is an automation tool that uses a Mac web browser. (See attached screenshot 1)

When I try to upload a file to Todoist.com via Google Docs through my Fluid app's web browser, nothing happens. No modal window, no dialogue box, nothing that indicates the site is recognizing I'm using a browser or nothing to indicate the Fluid app is acting like a browser. Just the 'upload via Google Drive' link doesn't do anything. (see attached screenshot 2 - I've clicked "google drive" link)

The expectation is that I'd be able to use Fluid's browser and the site, todoist.com, would interact correctly like it does with the "local file" and "dropbox" upload options. (See screenshots 3 & 4)

Is there some Javascript problem or something else that will make todoist.com work with Fluid's browser so all functionality can be had?

Thanks!

Google asked for a gmail permission, not for drive permission. Is this the problem?

Gmail permission is needed to access the drive associated with your Gmail account. The window to login with your Google account and then bring up your Google Drive files does not open due to pop-up blocker.

Find out how to add todoist.com to your safe-list or watch for the "blocked" alert and click to allow this site to activate pop-ups. Manage pop-up settings for your browser:

Google Chrome https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95472?hl=en

Mozilla Firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/pop-blocker-settings-exceptions-troubleshooting#w_pop-up-blocker-settings

Apple Safari http://support.apple.com/kb/ph11946
-- Sorry, you can only turn this on and off in Safari
-- However, you can turn pop-up block OFF for Safar and then install this extension http://extensions.apple.com/details/?id=org.adblockplus.adblockplussafari-GRYYZR985A

Hi,

There has been some confusion on our side (new feature) and many variations on the issue. Please confirm exactly what the issue is, the button does nothing or? If you can give an exact step by step and which app/browser you tried, it could be of much help.

Also make sure that Third Party Cookies are enabled for Chrome, if using that or installed (as our app uses this).

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi,

I'm using Safari on Mac OS and can confirm absolutely nothing happens when I click on the Google Drive-link in the upload file-dialog. No popup-blocker warnings, nothing. Uploading files from dropbox works fine, so I assume this is no popup-blocker issue. Just to make sure, I've disabled the popup-blocker feature in Safari, but still nothing happens.

Please let me know how I can help te reproduce the issue so you can fix it.

Hi Clyde,

I checked and indeed I had Safari block third party cookies. However, after disabling this (having set Safari to never block cookies), still nothing happens when clicking the Google Drive-link.

Hi Mark,

Try logging out and back in again. If that doesn't help, please try clearing the cache of Safari to check if that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Unfortunately, logging out- and in and clearing the Safari cache does not solve the issue.

Mark,

I would suggest, un-installing our app, clearing the cache for Safari again. Logging into your account on the web, do you have Google associated with it? If so, remove it. Though make sure you have a password/email combo set under Account before doing that.

Then install the app, login. Try again, and re-associate with Google.

Brendon.

Guys, I had this same issue... When I was using the Chrome Extension. It gave me the same error. Running latest Chrome.

Therefore, I went to Todoist directly via web browser and not the extension to attempt. Chrome blocked a popup in-which was a file permissions approval from Google. After the block though if you try to click Google Drive link again nothing happens. But in address bar a red x shows, click that and give permission. It will also provide you the address of popup window, click that and give permission. Now, at least my web browser access works, but extension still gives me the error.

Carl,

Sign out of the extension and clear cache for the browser. The web and extension are linked, so if one works the other should as well.

Hi Carl,

Just to clarify, it is now working in the web but not in the extension, correct? Unfortunately, the file upload features doesn't work in the extension as Chrome does limits this ability. Though the web and Chrome extensions are indeed link, the said limitation prevents us from implementing it.
