How sub tasks are displayed is confusing

The way sub tasks is displayed within your list when they been assigned a deadline date is confusing!

Surely it makes more sense to maintain the hierarchy, and just display the deadline alongside the task?

Example (displays tasks in hierarchical order) - http://i57.tinypic.com/r29rac.jpg

Example (once tasks have been assigned a deadline date, hierarchy is lost) - http://i57.tinypic.com/2jcxzeh.jpg

Hi Anthony,

Thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify, you'll only lose the hierarchy if you're viewing those tasks under the Today/Next 7 days view. At this view, the task that are due are presented the same way regardless of its level since at this view we're more concerned on what needs to be done rather than what the hierarchy is.

So you can still add due dates and should not affect how the your tasks are organised. Also, you can easily go back to the project itself by clicking on the project name if you're under the Today/Next 7 days view.

Clyde

Hi Clyde,

What was occurring in the view was too logical to not be intended - so I'd thought the use case might be within the context of the next 7 days that is just how it is displayed.

I really like having an "overview" of my tasks, is there a way to maintain hierarchy within the 7 day view? At the moment, i'm fudging it by not assigning a deadline to the sub tasks themselves.

Hi Anthony,

There's no way to maintain sub-tasks hierarchy in the 7 day view at the moment. You can try just adding a deadline on the parent task. You can then manually expand the tasks to show the sub-tasks. Feel free to add this in our votebox https://todoist.com/Vote/ though.

I just added a votebox suggestion that would enable something like this: http://todoist.com/Vote/show/8351/
