Hi Cyril,

Can you give an example of a task that is not showing? Have you tried using q:searchword as well?

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

It doesn't work either.

For instance i sometimes use in tasks references such as "HV10" "C209"

When i search for C209 and HV10 it just returns the current tasks. I then click on "look through completed tasks" and nothing returns.

I know i could use label instead, but that answer only half of my question.

That's a paid feature included in premium, and it's actually the feature that is the most necessary for.

thank you

Hello Cyril,

Just to clarify, does it only happen if you type just C209 into the search field or also if you use the q: prefix:

q:C209

Also, again, just to make sure, are these tasks in active projects (and not archived)? If you search for "va" to view all tasks at once and then use the browser's Ctrl+F search option, can you find them and if so - are they all in the same project?

Best regards,
David

David,

It doesn't work for both :

searching for :
C209
and
q:C209

I suppose the tasks are in archived projects. They are all completed tasks.

I can search for actual tasks, this is no problem.

When i search for "va", they are obviously not in there because that just returns actual tasks.

I then hit the button "look for completed tasks" and nothing is returned.

Cyril,

Thank you for clarifying, we'll look into implementing completed task search for archived projects in the future.

We have to be serious, i can't believe we can't search for old tasks, please sort this out ASP

Imagine if you couldn't look in your mailbox once you've archived it !
This would keep track of all our work. Without this feature, it's like burning all your paperwork once you've read them...

Cyril,

You can search for all tasks no matter how old they are, you can also search for all tasks that are completed, no matter when they were completed, what can't be done is to search for tasks that are inside archived projects, unless you unarchive the project.

Also, you can browse through all open tasks in archived project without unarchiving them.

We will look into implementing an option to search through tasks in archived projects without unarchiving them in the future.

Thank you for the explanation David.

Actually, i've never archived a project.

I complete tasks in a project and once a project in complete, i delete it.

That's probably my mistake. Does that mean that the tasks are totally removed from your system ?

Cyril,

Yes, deleting a project completely removes its current and former contents, unlike archiving which still stores it, though only on the server and not in your local cache (which is being searched primarily by default for improved performance).

i think it's silly to totally delete them.
i will now obviously use the archive option but still...
