Hi,Is there a way to set filters based on a person assigned to a task (other than me)?E.g.Can I filter by assigned name such a John Jones? Thanks,JE
Hi John,You can filter by assigned tasks, using the :to_others: filter, but at the moment there is no way to filter by specific person. You could create label for their name, and that could work.Regards,Brendon.
Hi Brendon, I did just that but it doesn't work. I created labels for each person on my shared project to be able to identify which tasks a specific person needs to complete but when I when to labels, the tasks didn't appear.
Lesley,The tasks on the shared project have labels attached such as @person1 and when you click on that label or search for it, nothing appears? Are you sure there are active tasks for each one?Regards,Brendon.
Lesley,I believe this is related to your other topic, so I will respond there.Regards,Brendon.
Very similar issue. When I click on a label in the Labels list it does not show me all of the tasks associated with that particular label. Only some of them but not all of them. Am I doing something wrong? Same issue in Chrome and Firefox. In iOS the label shows the correct count of tasks for the label (just to the right of the label), but when you go to look at the tasks, none are present. In the above listed browsers, you do not even get the correct count.Still playing around with the same issue. Seems like it may have something to do with whether a task is assigned to someone. The tasks that were showing up in response to clicking on a label (resulting in an "@label" search) would disappear from the label search after assigning to a team member. Yet, this is inconsistent as some label searches show tasks that are assigned to team members. ????
I agree with you Darius - seems redundant as well to assign to a team member and label the task with the team member's name. When you filter by a particular label, it does show up that way. :-S But from my conversation with Todoist staff, I think that's the only option for now.
There are really 2 issues here:(1) Labels are not working correctly for tasks that are assigned to a team member. So if I have 4 tasks that I assign to Joe and attach the label "sally" to each task, when I go to the Labels list and click on the "sally" label I will not see the tasks. If I go back and unassign the task, and then go back to the labels list they will show correctly under the "sally" label. Definitely a bug.(2) You cannot create a filter based on tasks assigned to a particular team member. You can create a filter for tasks assigned to yourself and one assigned "to others" but that's it. This is a known issue and feature request. You could work around it with the use of labels but, as noted in (1) above, that does not work out so well.
Hello Darius,The first point is not a bug. Todoist will always show you tasks that you are responsible for by default, not the ones that are already assigned to someone else. But you can still see other people's tasks either within any project or by including :all: in your queries, for example::all: & @work:all: & 7 daysBest regards,David
Where can I request that filter based on who an item is assigned to be added as a feature?
Hello Justin,You just did :-) We read all suggestions and posts in every thread and keep notes of requested features.Best regards,David
I am hoping that the suggestion to filter tasks by assigned is implemented soon. Is there at least a way to change the color for the person assigned?
Deneen,That is not possible at this time. We are considering such suggestions.Regards,Brendon.
I use todoist in my company. And having over ten users I can't really track tasks for one specific user. The suggested solution (using labels for this) is indeed redundant because why use task assignment AND labels. Todoist is perfect for me personally. But it lacks so many basic features that are must have if you use it in a team environment. I keep seeing you guys give answers like "there are no plans for this but please keep requesting". Can you please blog about your release roadmap?
