Iphone email

DS

I have just downloaded TD for my iphone 5. I am considering upgrading to premium, as the feature most attractive to me is that it appears using Outlook or Google I can create tasks right from the email. Will this feature work the same if I am using the email on my iphone which is neither gmail nor Outlook, but an email that is pushed to my phone from my Outlook server at my office but which is my own domain?

Darryl,

- Can you add emails from the mobile clients as you would from the Outlook/Gmail clients, no you can not.

- Can you open emails created from the desktop clients, only with Gmail.

You can email a project, which can be done from mobile though.https://todoist.com/blog/2013/01/zero-inbox-policy-with-todoist/

Thanks,
Brendon.

Thanks. I think I am more confused. In simple terms, can I on my iphone add a task directly from email? If not, am I correct that I can email the email to a particular task?

Also, can I add directly to my ios calendar from the task list? From the email.

Finally, if I have the software on both my Windows desktop and my iphone, can they sync? Are the tasks kept on the device or are they in the cloud?

Darryl,

You can not add a task directly from email on your iPhone. You can email a project to create the task as shown in the link above.

You can grab our iCal Feed URL (Todoist.com, top right corner, gear icon, Settings) and that can be added to your calender, or any calender.

Yes, everything is saved in the cloud, and as long as you are signed into the same account they will be in sync.

Regards,
Brendon.

Ok. Thanks.

I will spend the 30 bucks and try it out for a few weeks to see how I like it. It seems to have a lot of potential.

Will there eventually be upgrades that will fill in the blanks such as I have asked?

Darryl,

We don't have current plans (not being worked on) for mobile email clients, but it's very likely this will happen at some point.

Brendon.

One more question based on 6your answer that the data is stored in the cloud: if I am using Outlook on my desktop, and I add a task from that email, when I log in on my iphone TD app, will the newly created task be there?

Darryl,

Yes the task will be there, though the email link it creates will only open when viewing within Outlook.

Brendon.
