Project list does not scroll down when dragging an action

D

I have a lot of projects in left pane. When I arrange my actions, I normally drag them from one project to another.

However starting today, the left project list does not scroll down when I drag an action and move it to the bottom of the project list. Before, it scrolled down so that I can locate the appropriate project and drop it in there.

How to solve this?

Hello Daniel,

Sorry for the inconvenience. We are aware of the issue have reported it already to our developers. For the meantime, you can do either of the following workaround:

1. You can just scroll so that project where you want to transfer your tasks to is visible. This is not ideal but it should work.
2. You can press SHIFT and click the tasks that you want to transfer to a different project. Pressing SHIFT and clicking tasks allows you to multi-select tasks. If you do that, you should see several options at the top of the screen one of which is "Move to project". You can transfer tasks this way while waiting for a fix.

We will update you as soon as a fix is available.

Regards,

Clyde

Hi Daniel,

I just heard back from our dev. Unfortunately, we will not be able to fix this issue as it is a browser limitation. With that said, Option 2 would still be a great way to move tasks around. I prefer this myself and use it constantly when I need to transfer tasks to another project. Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Regards,

Clyde

Hi Clyde

How can this be a browser limitation?

Firstly, I am using your native Windows app.

Secondly, this worked perfectly for a couple of months until yesterday. So why can't it keep working? Clearly, it wasn't a "browser limitation" before. You guys have before had scrolling issues like this that you have fixed.

Hello DS,

Our Windows app is also a browser window (based on Chromium). This has changed when we've introduced the requested feature to have the project list separately scrollable (which also addresses some issues such as the whole list jumping when entering a project or trying to edit it or move tasks around).

Unfortunately, this solution makes it impossible to have the separately scrollable project list auto-scroll as the task list does - and this is a limitation of any browser.

Please note that you can always right-click on an existing project and choose "Add project above" or "Add project below" to have the input field opened in the exact location you want without having to add it somewhere else and then drag it to a new position.

Best regards,
David
