Completed tasks

A question for all platforms. I must be missing something. Is the only place I can see completed task is in the productivity trends? Is there a way to see them in the project they were created in? Like once the are marked completed can they go to a completed list on the project so you have a history.

And can you take a task that was accidentally marked completed and make it an active task again? Or do you have to completely recreate it?

I can't even find any completed tasks on my Ipad or Iphone?

This appears to be a major flaw.

Hello Ryan,

Across all desktop-based platforms, you can enter the project a task was completed in and click on the circular "Show completed tasks" icon at the bottom of the task list. Here you can also un-complete them.

It's currently not possible to access completed tasks on mobile, but we'll add this option in future updates.

Best regards,
David

I create a weekly status report for my manager. It would be a HUGE time saver if I could generate a per-project list of completed tasks.

Like this:
Project A:
* Did this (4/3/14)
* Did that (4/4/14)
* Did something else (4/5/14)
Project B:
* Did this (4/7/14)
* Did that (4/7/14)
* Did something else (4/8/14)

Hi,

Within each project, there are no data such as this, we will consider adding such options in the future. Though the Karma Link (at the top right) there is much more information about the completed tasks and how you can sort it. This is of course, Premium only.

We will consider adding more layout options to the Productivity information in the future.

Regards,
Brendon.

Thanks, Brendon. For many of your professional customers, the time/value of an automatic status report would let this app pay for itself in one week. HUGE~!

Hi I am loving the Todoist online and app. I have transferred my tasks over from MyLogs. I really need to be able to access a report about completed tasks because I will need to be able to prove to the Environmental Health Officer how often I have cleaned behind my fridge and disinfected my sponge etc etc. Please can you make the Completed Tasks exportable into some kind of printable list or export to CSV or html thank you so much!!! Also, how long will the data be kept? Is there a limit eg 6 months or forever? Do I need to make backups or can I trust it to backup automatically. Very important as it is vital I can prove that I am keeping records of how often I am cleaning and disinfecting my food business. Many thanks

Hi Jacqueline,

We're glad to hear you're enjoying your Todoist experience. :-) As for your questions, refer to my answer below:

>> Please can you make the Completed Tasks exportable into some kind of printable list or export to CSV or html thank you so much!!!

Though we can't export to CSV or HTML, you can easily print out completed tasks. Just click on your Karma points and select "View all completed". Once you have this view, filter it accordingly by project, date, and label. Once you have all the completed tasks that you want to print, just print it like a normal web page.

>> Is there a limit eg 6 months or forever? Do I need to make backups or can I trust it to backup automatically. Very important as it is vital I can prove that I am keeping records of how often I am cleaning and disinfecting my food business.

As a premium user, your tasks are automatically being backed up daily though you can initiate one if you want to. As long as you don't delete tasks or projects, they will not be removed from you history. So no, you don't to be worried about this. :-)

Hope this helps. If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to let me know.

Best Regards,

Clyde

wow, I am delighted with this, thank you so much Clyde :). I have clicked print and saved it as a PDF which will do the job, thank you! one last thing - is there a way to get it to print the notes for each one or would I have to open each note manually?

Jacqueline,

When you go to print your tasks, it should auto ask to include all notes. Are you saying this does not happen?

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon. Yes that is correct. When I click "print current page" there IS a dialogue box asking if I want to include all notes but that is for the Tasks that are Overdue, Today and Tomorrow, ie Uncompleted tasks. BUT I do not get that dialogue box asking if I want to include all notes when I try to print the Completed Tasks. It would be useful if you could make that possible please? thanks again for looking at this!

Jacueline,

Ah, then yes, in that case it's not included. We will look into improving this in future updates. You can always add this as a suggestion in our Votebox :) Todoist.com/vote.

Brendon.

Good morning, can we see the task that were completed designated to others?

Hi Cristiano,

Yes. Just go to the shared project and click on the "Show completed task" icon on the bottom right corner of the project. It's the one that looks like a clock.

Regards,

Clyde

Uh, Brendon? Votebox isn't an option anymore, you know. Apparently, the forums are now one giant, disorganized Votebox interspersed with support questions :P

Ahh, gotcha, misread the date on your post as Jul 2, not Jun 2. Sorry!

May I make a request regarding this post? It may already exist but I would love to have my completed task remain on the daily screen of Outlook as a marked through task. It appears that way for a brief moment and then disappears. At first I thought it was my own need for validation but I have learned it actually releases good chemicals in our brains to see the completed task. I know you can go there and see it but it does not achieve the same level of motivation.
