Rescheduling a task with a due time to another date changes due time to 23:59

SS

Hello!

I've had a strange thing happening in the last days: Tasks I would reschedule would become due at 23:59 on the day I rescheduled it to.

I rescheduled a task that is due every first Sunday at 15:00 to this Friday, using the "Choose date and time" button in the rescheduling menu. I didn't select a due time.

The task was rescheduled to Friday, but the due time was set to 23:59. I would have expected it to be due at 15:00?

Best wishes
Silvia

Hi Silvia,

Please clarify, you said you used the "Choose Date & Time" but did not select a due date, but how would it be "every first sunday at 15:00" if no due date was selected?

Are you using this in English, or another language, and does it occur in English?

Regards,
Brendon.

Hello Brendon!

What I meant was that I selected the "Choose Dat & Time" button in the reschedule menu, choose Friday and did not select a due time.

I'm using German on my iOS device. The due time of the event was entered in German - " jeden 1sten So um 15". It works just fine, and did so for at least three months.

As to if it would happen in English - I don't know as I've never used my iOS devices in English.

Best wishes
Silvia

Hello Brendon!

One more thing I noticed - I've never seen it happen with rescheduling with the tomorrow, or next week, button - only with the "select date and time".

Best wishes

Silvia,

Can you tell me if this issue occurs on the web version. As I am pretty sure using any of the Postpone/change date options should carry the same information. Though I will double check that is indeed the case for Choosing A Date.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hello Brendon!

In the web version, it works. It's carrying on the due time.
Looks like the iOS version has a bug there.

Best wishes

Hello Silvia,

As mentioned in the other thread, I've tried to reproduce it now and it works fine in version 8.2 - we'll soon release it so let us know in case you'll still experience it in this version.

Best regards,
David

Hello David!

Much to my dissapointment I discovered yesterday that the error is back again in the newest version. Not with every task that's rescheduled, but with quite a lot of them.

And the only solution is to manually edit the tasks again. Logging out and reinstalling doesn't help at all.

Please fix this error asap.

Best wishes

Silvia,

Can you confirm the version you are running now? As it was just updated not that long ago.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hello Bredon!

Yes, I'm running version 8.4.1. And my impression is that the problems started to reappear after upgrading to this version.

Siliva,

To re-confirm the issue, if you re-schedule a task, the due time is lost?

Regards,
Brendon.

No.
If I reschedule a task that has a due date and time (not 23:59) to, let's say, Friday, by using "Select date and time", it gets rescheduled to Friday - but suddenly displays 23:59 as due time. When editing the task, the correct due time is visible.
Keep in mind that it doesn't happen on every reschedule, and I've only seen it happen to repeating tasks.
Best wishes
Silvia

Plus, as it just occurred to me, it might have to do with the crashing iOS app - in that it might be a result of the freezes I'm experiencing.
As the app crashes every 15 min or so, it's hard to tell.

Silvia,

We do not have any other reports of crashing, though it could be related to your other issue. Though, I'd suggest uninstalling and re-installing but you have already tried that.

Though to confirm, which iOS version are you running? Are you jailbroken?

Regards,
Brendon.

Hello Brendon!
iOS version 7.1.2. Not jailbroken.
I've reported the crashes under http://todoist.com/Support/show/35160, so there's at least one other having the same difficulties.
Best wishes
