Moving items in Today List - FireFox

C

When moving items up and down in Firefox, after moving 5-7 items the list would reset again and move all items back. Please fix this bug as I prioritize and also like to have things in order of how I will complete them.

That being said. Can there be an easy way to change the time (on a list of today tasks) of when the item will be worked? That would help in the overview of what I am supposed to work and when, and if I am behind.

Thanks,
Chad

Hi Chad,

Just to clarify, are any of these tasks that you are sorting on a different priority? (Ex. priority 1) Task with priority will always automatically sort it to the top.

What version of Firefox are you using?

Clyde

Yes they have different priorities.

And it currently does not sort by priority at the top either. On the iPad, iPhone, Windows 7 or Firefox versions.

Firefox 20.0.1

Hi Chad,

I'm using Firefox version 28 right now on a Mac and it's working just fine. Any chance you can upgrade? I'm just ruling out the difference between your setup and mine and figure out what's causing the issue.

As for the iPad, iPhone, and Windows 7 issue, we can take a look at those after we sort out the problem that you're having with Firefox. Is that okay?

Clyde

Yeah, will advise after updating. Not an immediate need, just wanted to make your team aware. I am in the IT field so I understand.

I have upgraded and still the same issue. I am on Windows 7, just FYI

Hi Chad,

Sorry to hear that. Can you maybe give me a list of steps to follow so I can try and replicate the issue again? I might be doing something different and that's probably why I can't replicate it.

Better yet, if you can record the behaviour for me that would be awesome. Just make sure that it's just a few seconds long so you don't need to spend too much time with it. But any of the two would work. :-)

Also, please try using a different browser to test the behaviour. That would tell us if the problem is browser specific or not.

Clyde

Sorry for the delay, here are the steps:

1. Opened ToDoist on Chrome Version 33.0.1750.154 and FireFox Version 28
2. Clicked on Today
3. Moved items up and down by mousing over a single item and clicking and
dragging the cross hairs that appear over the 3 horizontal lines on the
left, regardless of priority. Once item is moved, it will stay in new
position momentarily until the browser updates, then the items return to
their original order.

Hi Chad,

Can you please tell me how many seconds/minutes you have to wait until the browser re-orders the tasks again? That info is key when I'll try to replicate the issue.

Clyde

Hello Chad,

First, just to clarify - so you're attempting to reorder tasks that have different priorities outside of their priority groups? If so - that's not possible and they will indeed jump back to their priority group. You can reorder them within the same group, though (in the 7 days view, you can move them randomly inside a project).

Earlier, you wrote: "And it currently does not sort by priority at the top either." - does that still apply? And if so - do these tasks have due times? Tasks with times are shown at the very top, followed by p1 - p4. Is that not the case?

Best regards,
David

Yes to first question, didn't know it wasn't possible.

And yes, some items had times related, so that must be that issue.

Thanks for clarifying.
