I'm new to ToDoist - just evaluating the product. Not sure if I'm missing something obvious, but I'm sure I used to get notified when a task was due, but now nothing happens. I have notifications set for a tone as well as vibrate, but get nothing when a task I have set is due.

Hi Drew,

- Is Notifications turned on in the settings page of the app?
- Is the default reminder set to PUSH on the Todoist.com's website (top right corner)
- What did you type exactly into the date box to add this task?

Hey Brendon. Yes, Notifications are turned on in the settings page of the app. I don't understand the distinction between notifications and reminders. I am using the free product right now, which doesn't include reminders, so I can't turn on PUSH from the web interface. I added a date and time using the popup Calendar/Clock within the New Task box.

Drew,

Yes, that would be the case. Those are Premium features, and you will not get a reminder about a task (as you created one). Notifications are for shared projects, to put it simply. Such as someone you shared a task with has completed it.

Hello I have a question. I use a lot Todoist in my work, and i share projects with about 8 - 10 people. Is it posible to set the notifications for everybody, when somebody completes a task? Or onky the person that shared the task can be notified?

Hi,

That is correct, right now only the people involved will get the notification about it,

I used to get notifications (not SMS) on my iPad and iPhone. I don't anymore. I am a premium subscriber.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Phil,

If you recently updated to iOS 8, we highly recommend you reinstall Todoist from the app store. Major OS updates often mess up apps!

Phill,

So these are reminders you have has set before and have been working? Can you tell me if you create a new one if it works?

In the settings area at Todoist.com, do you still see your device listed?
