Still having issues with Today view not updating correctly

MB

The Today view is still not updating reliably. For instance, I just switch to the app for the first time today and I see the "Today" header at the bottom and it contains a task that I added yesterday...

It shouldn't be necessary to go to the menu and have to switch to "Next 7 days" and back to "Today" in order to see the correct tasks!

Hi Martin,

If you hit the refresh/sync button does it update? Have you logged out of the app since the recent updates?

Brendon.

Sorry for late reply, I never had a notification on this thread.

Manually doing a sync does not update the "Today" view correctly. I have logged out and back in yesterday but that doesn't fix it. "Today" view is still showing as having my 2 outstanding tasks assigned for yesterday and not completed.

The only way to fix it, is to switch to "Next 7 days" and then back to "Today" where the expected tasks for today are now shown.

Martin,

So this only happens on the iOS version? If changing views fixes it, then pulling to refresh should do the same thing. When you load it up, are you fully connected to the internet?

Brendon.

I didn't pull to refresh on the Today view, I went to the main menu, then the settings gear and then the sync button. I also pulled down on the main menu to refresh and that didn't update the "Today" view either.

Yes always connected to the internet, but it shouldn't even need an internet connection to know that the day has changed since the app was last used and what was shown as "Today" should now be shown as "Yesterday", right?

Martin,

It does need a connection to update the tasks, as the data is actually stored in the cloud, and the app does not know until connected.

It's very odd that only 7 days view updates the feed, anything should update the feed. We are going to be releasing a new version (8.2) that address many issues such as this, we hope to have it published soon.

Regards,
Brendon.

Just so we're on the same page this isn't a syncing issue but a bug with the current Today view not being updated with the latest data.

When I launch the app on a new day I can see the network connection spinner in the status bar. When I pull down to refresh on the Today view, then I see the same thing and no syncing error is reported. But when I scroll to the bottom of the Today view, it isn't showing me the tasks for today. The bottom row header says "Today" and my uncompleted task from 3 days ago (Wednesday) is shown. Today is Saturday and in the iOS app, none of the tasks between Wednesday and Today are shown at all.

So the fix, is to go to the menu and select "Next 7 days", then go to the menu again and select "Today". Doing this is simply forcing the Today view to update, which shouldn't be necessary as the correct data already exists.

Having a similar problem. Today (Monday) o opened the app in Next & days view and I can see Today, Tomorrow, Tuesday. That is wrong, it is old data from Sunday because Tomorrow = Tuesday. It should show Today, Tomorrow, Wednesday. When I pull to refresh, it does not help. When I kill the app and start it again, it shows correctly.
